  4. Following the success of Kingsman: The Secret Service last year, 20th Century Fox understandably ordered a sequel, which has since been titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle. As production looms closer, more casting announcements have been coming out, and tonight brings news of another actor who’s been brought aboard, though it’s not some we necessarily would have predicted: Channing Tatum. Tatum made the news official on his Twitter account, proclaiming that he’s about to "get up in that Golden Circle." The sentence underneath the sunglasses in the picture reads, "My momma always told me the British gave us Southerners our good manners." It’s hard to tell from this tweet whether Tatum will have a major role in Kingsman: The Golden Circle or simply make a minor appearance, but either way, moviegoers can look forward to him getting involved in Mark Millar’s world of spies, intrigue and exaggerated action. Following the explosive events of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kingsman: The Golden Circle will follow our beloved protagonist, Gary "Eggsy" Unwin, and his ally Merlin as they join forces with the United States’ Kingsman counterpart, Statesman, after Kingsman is destroyed by the movie’s main antagonist. If we had to guess, Channing Tatum is probably playing one of the top Statesman agents, and he has been assigned to work with Eggsy and Merlin on their new mission. If he’s as Southern as we’re led to believe in the tweet, he should make an amusing contrast to Eggsy and Merlin’s British demeanors. That said, the spy game is a dangerous and manipulative one, so we should prepare ourselves for the possibility that Tatum’s character may have sinister intentions. Having become a household name in the past couple years, Channing Tatum’s most recent movies include the Jump Street series, the Magic Mike series, Foxcatcher and The Hateful Eight. He most recently appeared as Burt Gurney in Hail, Caesar and is set to play Remy LeBeau, a.k.a. Gambit, in the same-named X-Men spinoff, though that recently got moved out of its original October 2016 release date. Well, if the latter doesn’t end up working out, at least Kingsman: The Golden Circle will count towards participating in a comic book movie adaptation. Tatum is just the latest actor who’s been added to Kingsman: The Golden Circle’s ever-growing cast. The past week alone has seen Game of Thrones’ Pedro Pascal and Sir Elton John in crucial roles. Julianne Moore and Halle Berry have also reportedly joined as the movie’s villain and the head of the CIA, respectively. Besides Taron Egerton as Eggsy, other returning folks include Mark Strong as Merlin and Sophie Cookson as Roxy Morton, while Colin Firth’s character, Harry Hart, and and Edward Holcroft’s character, Charlie Hesketh, are potentially coming back as well despite them being seemingly killed in the last movie. With Matthew Vaughn back in the director’s chair, Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters on June 16, 2017
  5. The role of young Han Solo for Disney's untitled Star Wars story anthology is one that's been hotly competed, with the field going from a massive list of candidates to a manageable short-list in seemingly record time. Now, we've received information that one name above all others is in a commanding lead to play the younger incarnation of the infamously roguish smuggler. If you're an Alden Ehrenreich fan, then today's your lucky day, as he's the man at the top of the heap! A source close to the untitled spin-off's production gave Deadline the leg up, stating that Ehrenreich was so impressive that he jumped to the head of a list that included such candidates as Transformers: Age Of Extinction's Jack Reynor, Kingsman: The Secret Service's Taron Egerton, and Brooklyn's Emory Cohen. Naturally, while this item is a rumor from the usual "sources close to the production," it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch for this to be true. Which is good, considering how it's hard not to get excited about Alden Ehrenreich's possible participation in the Phil Lord / Chris Miller directed spin-off. While Ehrenreich has had roles in such moderate visibility films as Beautiful Creatures and Blue Jasmine, his greatest claim to fame has been the role of Hobie Doyle in this year's Coen Brothers offering Hail, Caesar! Alden Ehrenreich's portrayal of the lovable, but slightly dim cowboy earned him some of the raves that the screwball comedy had logged in its theatrical release. In fact, if you remember the pre-release materials that were released earlier this year, it only took one trailer for the relatively fresh actor to become the breakout star of the film. Between the quick comedic timing, as well as his extraordinary levels of cowboy swagger, Alden Ehrenreich seems like the perfect front-runner for the young Han Solo spin-off that follows Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in the canon of standalone films that will help fill in the gaps of the Star Wars universe. Though we'd venture a guess that if Ehrenreich's hypothetically charming performance translates into similarly impressive box office numbers, the adventures of the smuggler from Corellia might become a sort of mini-franchise of their own. Though we'll have to wait until 2018 for the as of yet untitled Han Solo spin-off, Alden Ehrenreich can next be seen in Warren Beatty's Howard Hughes biopic, which will be released at some point this awards season.
  6. Taylor Swift is enjoying having a break from making music and isn't certain when she'll next release an album. The American singer-songwriter's fifth album, pop-focused 1989, was released in 2014 and sold more copies in its opening week than any album in the previous 12 years, making Taylor the first and only act to have three albums sell more than one million copies in the opening release week. In spite of her incredible success, the Bad Blood singer reveals she isn't putting pressure on herself to push out more hit music. In an interview for the May edition of America's Vogue, Taylor states that she has "no idea" when she will return to the recording studio. "This is the first time in 10 years that I haven’t known. I just decided that after the past year, with all of the unbelievable things that happened, I decided I was going to live my life a little bit without the pressure on myself to create something," she told Vogue. But while the 26-year-old admits she is interested in pursuing a fashion line in the future, she is quick to reassure fans that she is not abandoning music altogether. "I’m always going to be writing songs," she explained. "The thing is, with me, I could very well come up with three things in the next two weeks and then jump back into the studio, and all of a sudden the next record is started. That’s an option, too." The blonde beauty, who poses for the fashion magazine's cover in a metallic mini-dress, adds she has many short term goals that aren't related to music and would like to learn CPR, how to change a tyre and to be a "well-rounded person who can make a good drink". Further, Taylor shares that her relationship with Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris is moving along nicely. "I’m just taking things as they come," she smiled. "I’m in a magical relationship right now."
  7. Singer Kelly Clarkson has given birth to her second child. The pop star announced via Twitter on Thursday (14Apr16) that she delivered her baby boy on Tuesday (12Apr16). Kelly and husband Brandon Blackstock have named their son Remington. "Our little baby boy has arrived!! Remington Alexander Blackstock was born 4/12/16 & he is healthy & we couldn't be happier or more in love!" she tweeted. Kelly revealed in August last year (15) that she was expecting her second child with Brandon, during an emotional performance at L.A.'s Staples Center. Kelly and Brandon tied the knot in Tennessee in October 2013 after two years of dating, and welcomed daughter River Rose in June 2014. Brandon, 39, is also dad of daughter Savannah, 14, and son Seth, 8, from a previous relationship. A heavily pregnant Kelly, 33, appeared on TV just last week, for the final of American Idol, the TV talent show which launched her career in music. She was warned by doctors earlier this year (16) not to attend both an Idol show and the Grammys as she had been experiencing a difficult pregnancy, so the Since U Been Gone singer opted for the TV talent show over music's big night. Kelly also previously admitted this will be the last time she's going through the pregnancy process since the journey has not been an easy one for her. "Oh, no, we are done," the pop star told Australia's KIIS FM radio station. "Oh good Lord, yes, I can't be pregnant again. This will be our number four total, so we're good... Honestly, the first one was really rough, and I was like, 'Oh, it can't happen again,' and no, it happened, like, way worse this time." Kelly revealed she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition which results in severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss and dehydration.
  8. Gavin Rossdale has agreed to divide assets in favour of Gwen Stefani rather than push for an equal split in their divorce settlement. The No Doubt frontwoman announced she was splitting from the rocker in August (15) after 13 years of marriage, and asked for joint custody of their three sons Kingston, nine, Zuma, seven, and Apollo, two. The former couple did not have a prenuptial agreement so Gavin was entitled to receive half of the assets they acquired during the marriage, in accordance with Californian law, but he has reportedly opted against taking money she earned through concert and record sales, according to TMZ.com. Gavin is also not asking for child support and they will split custody evenly, but the Bush frontman will look after the boys most often due to Gwen's busy schedule. The settlement is complete and just needs a judge to approve it before their divorce will be officially finalised, according to the website. The split inspired Gwen, 46, to write her new solo album This Is What the Truth Feels Like, and she recently told U.S. show Good Morning America that she was still reeling from the end of her marriage. "It's still painful, I'm still looking at the pieces going, 'What is happening?,'" she said. "There's so many great things, but it's still super hard to, like, have your family break up. What do you do after that? It's like, 'Here we are, we're doing it.' "I felt like I was so... I was embarrassed and I was like, 'Wow, I can't go down, this is not who I am, I am not gonna fail,'" she recalled. "I had to make something good out of it, so I tried to write, because I know that that was my gift, and I was like, 'I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna make this into music'... It feels like I'm supposed to be doing this right now and sharing my story." She has since found love with country singer and fellow The Voice U.S. coach Blake Shelton.
  9. Music-News.com can exclusively unveil the new new AM2PM remix video of Peppermint Heaven's The Cage That We Live In. https://youtu.be/ozYNqaqwryA After cutting their teeth playing the Chicago indie club scene several years back, Peppermint Heaven aka Juno (Vocals, Keyboards) and Spark (Vocals, Bass, Drums) separately made the long trek from Chicago to LA eventually winding up together in the summer of 2011 when they began creating their own tasty brand of 80s-influenced indie pop, replete with heavenly harmonies, Juno’s delicious keyboard hooks and Spark’s inventive bass ‘n’ beats. Taking their name from an obscure pre-Smiths Morrissey song, Peppermint Heaven found a home at indie band playground The Bedrock in LA’s storied Echo Park area and several months of playing, writing, recording, mixing, and honing their sound followed. After a wintry trip to London in early 2013, the boys decided that the UK would be the perfect launching pad for the band. This made perfect sense, as many of their influences hail from the UK (Tears For Fears, Pet Shop Boys, Simple Minds, New Order, Howard Jones, Psychedelic Furs to name a few). Having unveiled their debut EP, the aptly titled The Delicious EP, last year, the band were thrilled with the loving response the record received, including a Top 10 placing on Music Week’s dance chart. Building on their earlier efforts, the band returned to the studio impassioned by the response. With echoes of David Bowie, Morrissey, Erasure and Pet Shop Boys, but also boasting a distinctive Peppermint Heaven edge, the duo return with their ambitious debut album Precious Things. Hypnotic album opener Stranger Than Fiction is a clear demonstration of how the boys have raised their game. An intriguing dancefloor filler which sees Duran Duran meeting New Order, Spark and Juno show that they are plenty capable of reaching the arena highs of their musical idols. Journeying through the social comment of tantric The Cage That We Live In through to the uplifting breeze of The Girl I Used To Know and the irrepressible earworm Foreign Feeling (think Heaven 17), Precious Things is an ambitious debut that delivers what the duo have always promised – a big nostalgic 80s driven, contemporary pop record. A welcome breath of fresh air (Pop Wrapped) A real feat of music ingenuity (Music News) dark indie pop at its finest (Essentially Pop) Well worth getting hold of (Review Graveyard)
  10. Ringo Starr has joined Bruce Springsteen in boycotting the state of North Carolina over recent LGBT legislation. The government in Charlotte recently passed an ordinance that loosened the gender identification of transsexual people as far as public facilities were concerned. The state of North Carolina overrode the ordinance passing one that applied statewide that limited use of facilities to the gender listed on a person’s birth certificate. Springsteen was first out of the box, cancelling a Charlotte appearance and, now, Ringo Starr has followed suit, saying “I’m sorry to disappoint my fans in the area, but we need to take a stand against this hatred. Spread peace and love.” Starr and Springsteen are the two main artists who have outright cancelled appearances in the state while a number of others have sympathized with the issue but have decided to keep their appearances. Gregg Allman posted: For over 45 years, I’ve been fortunate to play music all around this country and the world. I’ve been honored to know and be friends with many different people from all walks of life. Although we, as a nation, have made progress in many areas, it’s sad and infuriating that some, in 2016, are still working so hard to take the rights away from our brothers and sisters, as in the cases of “bathroom laws” recently passed in North Carolina (HB2 – Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act) and Mississippi (“Religious Liberty” bill 1523), discriminating against the LGBT community. I know that North Carolina is a state full of good folks and loyal fans, many of whom are angry about and feel misrepresented by this action. My band and I will continue to play our show as scheduled there tomorrow, April 13, and hope that our music unites people in this challenging time. We stand in solidarity with the LGBT community urging Gov. McCrory to listen to the people and reverse this wrong. – Gregg Allman Jimmy Buffett said: North Carolina was there for me as a performer in the early days and I have always felt a loyalty to fans there that goes deep. Rightly so, a lot of people are reacting to the stupid law. I happen to believe that the majority of our fans in North Carolina feel the way I do about that law. I am lucky enough to have found a job in the business of fun. These shows were booked and sold out long before the governor signed that stupid law. I am not going to let stupidity or bigotry trump fun for my loyal fans this year. We will be playing in Raleigh and Charlotte next week. Brandi Carlile: As I’m crossing over the state line into the beautiful state of Massachusetts where I was legally married to my wife four years ago- I’m contemplating Bruce Springsteen and North Carolina- everywhere I’ve gone I’m being asked if I plan to cancel my shows. I should start by saying that I want to be Bruce Springsteen when I grow up. Bruce has decided on principal not to go through with his concert because of thinly veiled legislation having been passed that permits the discrimination of my LGBTQ brothers and sisters in NC. I deeply appreciate this, and I want to say on my own behalf thank you for doing what you’re doing guys. These are massive shows and this is big business lost for NC- Bruce is not LGBTQ himself- but is bravely defending those of us that are. This is how we’ve seen the progress that we’ve seen. As artists it’s our responsibility to take cause against those who would oppress our brothers and sisters and defend them using whatever power we possess. Bruce is an artist, but on behalf of NC LGBTQ citizens, also is poignantly depriving NC of the big business his event would bring- well done. For very different reasons I have decided not to cancel my North Carolina shows. I’m a small artist, and I’m gay, many of my fans are gay as well. To cancel my shows in NC would further oppress my fans who are hurt by this legislation, who worked hard to suppress it, and who need a place where they can come together. That’s why we intend to be in Wilkesboro, Charlotte, Asheville, and Greensboro this summer. We’re going to come together, let our voices be heard, not stand down, and make a joyful noise in the face of this insult of a law. We all have a role to play here. Bruce is playing his beautifully and I respect him. In my own humble way though, I want to witness the protest through music. See you in NC my friends. XoBC @springsteen Cyndi Lauper has also said she will go ahead with her North Carolina shows. VVN Music
  11. Singer Justin Bieber feels no shame over being a grown-up colouring book fan. Although the 22-year-old Baby hitmaker has been considered a full-fledged adult in the eyes of the law for several years now, he still falls prey to reverting back to his childlike ways every now and then. Tapping into his inner kid on Wednesday (13Apr16), Bieber shared an image on Instagram of his work, which featured the coloured-in figure of a sexy tribal hentai anime woman who is licking an ornate ax. "I colored this," he wrote in the caption. "its dope Cuz I actually sat down for 30 min and finished I never can sit still for that long so it's an accomplishment, yes this took me 30 minutes haha I know I suck Don't judge me." Bieber, who is known for his brilliant dance moves the world over, has previously spoken about why it can sometimes be a challenge for him to focus on a task or subject for a lengthy period of time. Back in 2010 while speaking with British newspaper The Guardian, the Sorry pop star admitted he becomes easily distracted by things, attributing this behaviour to the possibility he may suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder. "I have a small case of ADD," he explained. "It’s self-claimed.” “If I don’t understand something, and I’m bored, I don’t pay attention, so my teacher has to really make it fun for me,” he detailed. “Every hour he has to give me a five- to 10-minute break. But after the break, I’ll be back into it. I’ll be good.”

  13. Italy’s biggest music artist, Zucchero, returns with his new international album, BLACK CAT, on June 10th. With more than 60 million record sales, BLACK CAT has a rock-blues flavour recalling the atmosphere and the spontaneity of ORO, INCENSO E BIRRA, one of the best-selling Italian records worldwide and among the most significant in the history of Italian music. The album recorded during 2015 in X Y Z, sees Zucchero collaborate with producers. T-Bone Burnett (Elvis Costello, Elton John, Tony Bennett), Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan) and Don Was (Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan). Amongst the collaborators, BLACK CAT sees Zucchero team up with Bono who wrote the lyrics for "Streets of Surrender (S.O.S.)” after the Bataclan Paris tragedy in November 2015, and Elvis Costello who penned first single “Turn The World Down”. The album also features the extraordinary guitar work of Mark Knopfler, who plays on both "Streets of Surrender (SOS)" and “Ci Si Arrende”. BLACK CAT is his twelfth studio album. Among the greatest interpreters of Italian blues, Zucchero (born Adelmo Fornaciari) is the biggest selling Italian artist of all time. His album ORO, INCENSO E BIRRA sold more than eight million copies and was for a long time the biggest selling album in the history of Italian pop music worldwide. In a career spanning three decades, he has achieved international success, not least through his collaborations with artists including Eric Clapton, Miles Davis, Ray Charles, B.B King, Sting, Bono, Jeff Beck and Andrea Bocelli. He has been nominated for a Grammy and won two World Music Awards, four Festivalbar awards and six Wind Music Awards in his homeland Italy. Zucchero will be returning to the UK for a special concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall on October 20th, his fifth time at the prestigious venue. 14. Rapper Azealia Banks has accused Kanye West of ruining his brand after marrying Kim Kardashian. The outspoken 24-year-old has never been afraid of speaking her mind, and has waged wars of words on social media with the likes of Iggy Azalea, Erykah Badu and even former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Now, a day after she and Badu ended their months-long Twitter feud, it appears Azealia is looking for a new target, and when a follower suggested critics hate her because she has the potential to be as influential as Kanye, the young star didn't appreciate the comparison. "Kanye lost all credibility when he became a kardashian," she spat back. "i don't even look up to him anymore. i look past him...(sic)." She went on to explain she has nothing against the first family of reality TV, but feels Kim and her clan have detracted from Kanye's real purpose in life. "They're cute and all, I think they have nice gowns," she wrote, but suggested Kanye was "put here to do major cultural work" and he had traded that "for trying to make bootleg jay-z moves." It isn't the first time Azealia has spoken out against 38-year-old West, telling French publication Skyrock last year (15), she feared he was focusing too much on being accepted by "the white fashion world". "I feel a little sad for hip-hop in 2015 because I think that... aside from people like Kendrick Lamar and stuff like that, I think there’s a huge emphasis on kind of tailoring yourself to these dominant, white social norms, and there’s an emphasis on being accepted by white people or what I like to call 'The Big House'." she said. "I feel like there were artists like Kanye West, for example. Someone like Kanye West, when he first came out, it was a different thing, and now, he’s really focused on, like, being accepted by, like, the white fashion world, and it’s kind of like… It’s a little confusing." Meanwhile, Azealia's Twitter rants may have landed her in big trouble with U.S. politician Sarah Palin after it appeared she had suggested Palin should be sexually assaulted on camera in a series of since-deleted posts on the social media platform. Azealia has since apologised for the posts, but the former Governor of Alaska has revealed she plans to sue the musician over the comments.
  15. Selena Gomez refuses to complain about her life in the spotlight because she chose it. The singer/actress recently bared her body and soul in an interview for GQ magazine and in the article the Come and Get It star explained it has often been difficult to navigate life in the public eye. However, she doesn't want anyone to pity her because this the career path she pursued. "I didn't have an opportunity to figure out my life without people having an opinion every step of the way," she tells the publication. "(But), I chose this. So I'm not gonna sit here and say, 'Oh, my God, poor me, I didn't have a normal childhood.' I don't give a f**k about that." Selena recently explained that early on in her career her image was very guarded, but she has learned to be more open and raw. "I think the beginning of my career, it was very tailored, it was very precise," she told U.K. chat show Lorraine. "Sharing the vulnerable, raw, messy side wasn't necessarily encouraged. I think the definition of strength is being vulnerable and being honest. "That doesn't mean you have to be like, 'I'm strong I'm amazing, look at me'; you can have those moments but you won't have those moments unless you're like, 'I've been broken, I've felt things and messed up a lot and I'm OK saying that'." And her friend Taylor Swift has encouraged her to embrace her personal struggles publicly by including them in her music. "I've known her for 10 years, she's been one of my best friends through thick and thin, walked by my side," she continued. "Her whole family has been so supportive of me and, yeah, she's been there during crucial points in my life and in my career. "She's known for embracing her personal story and creating a beautiful thing out of it and I was a little hesitant with that and she was always the person to encourage me to tell my story and be proud of who I am."
  16. Katy Perry has moved one step closer to becoming the owner of a Roman Catholic convent in Los Angeles. A judge has invalidated the sale of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Los Feliz to a restaurateur, making the pop star the prime candidate to move in. Perry, the daughter of Protestant pastors, initially put in a bid for the convent last year (15) and Archdiocese officials agreed terms with her, but nuns living at the convent had other ideas and they decided to sell to Los Angeles restaurateur Dana Hollister. On Wednesday (13Apr16), Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Bowick approved the archdiocese's motion to block the sale to Hollister in its entirety, giving Perry the go-ahead to snap up the Roman villa-style property for $14.5 million (£10.2 million). According to the Los Angeles Times, Hollister had offered to buy the former convent for $15.5 million (£10.9 million). She had hoped to convert the property into a hotel. Last summer (15), two of the convent's nuns stepped up their campaign against Perry's bid to buy the place, alleging the sale would violate their religious vows. Sisters Rita Callahan and Catherine Rose Holzman claimed it was their right to sell the eight-acre estate and they had already struck a deal with Hollister. Legal documents obtained by the New York Times featured an email the two nuns wrote to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, in which they stated, "In selling to Katy Perry, we feel we are being forced to violate our canonical vows to the Catholic Church." They also claimed the Archdiocese officials were bullying them into accepting Perry's sale when they would prefer the property to go to Hollister.
  17. We’ve known for a while that Microsoft is bringing its super awesome Word Flow keyboard that’s built into Windows Phone on iPhones too, and it turns out that development is advancing quite nicely and the software giant is ready to advance to the next step. Redmond has officially started a closed beta program of Word Flow on iOS, allowing users to register and try out the keyboard before it’s released to the store. Previously, the app was only available for select testers, but Microsoft is now giving interested users the chance to try it out on their devices too. “Thank you for your interest in Word Flow for iPhone, a Microsoft Garage Project! Our app is currently in a closed beta release, which means we want to get it JUST right before we open it up to everyone. Please enter your email address below, so that we can send you an invitation as soon as the Word Flow for iPhone app is ready,” Microsoft says on the website for the new beta program. Exclusive features on iOS It’s no secret that bringing Windows Phone apps on iOS has been received with criticism from the Windows community, but here’s something that could make it even worse. Word Flow arrives on iOS with two exclusive features that will make the app even more advanced than it currently is on Windows Phone. Microsoft will allow iPhone owners to customize the background of their keyboards with their own photo or one of the built-in themes, a feature that’s not yet available on Windows phones. Furthermore, there’s a new one-handed mode that makes it easy to type with just one hand by moving all keys to the side of the screen in an arc shape. Microsoft is expected to release the app in the store in the summer, with some sources claiming that June could be the month when Word Flow will land on iPhones.
  18. Great news of Yahoo Mail users, as developers announced a major update is now available for their Android and iOS applications, which promise many new features and improvements. This is the second important update for Yahoo’s email service in the last couple of months, so if you’re using the application on Android or iOS, it’s important to upgrade to the latest version. The most important new feature included in the update is the addition of Google Drive and Dropbox support, which means Yahoo Mail users will now have access to files from these two cloud services. Furthermore, the update brings support for GIFs from Tumblr, so Yahoo Mail users can send pictures, presentations or other visual content faster and easier. “Now that you can manage multiple mailboxes from the Yahoo Mail app, we want to empower you to send compelling and creative emails from any of your email addresses. Thanks to new access to files from Google Drive and Dropbox, as well as GIFs from Tumblr, you can quickly send your spring break photos, that important presentation, or that GIF that so perfectly describes your excitement,” said Josh Jacobson, director, Product Management, Yahoo Inc. New features for iOS users include preview attachments, Android users get widgets Yahoo also confirmed that iOS users can now preview an attachment without downloading it first to their mobile phone or tablet. Also, if you’re using the Android application, you will be able to delete a draft permanently if you cancel an email that you start composing. Last but not least, developers announced that they have added Android home screen widgets. There are three home screen widgets, which should provide updated information about user’s inbox. They will also include a preview of the inbox, a badged icon, as well as a shortcut to the compose screen. According to Yahoo, the latest updated to the Yahoo Mail app for iOS (4.3) and Android (5.4) should be available for download beginning today.
  19. Although previous rumors claimed Huawei would launch four P9 versions earlier this month, the Chinese company only announced the P9 and P9 Plus models. The good news is Huawei P9 lite will also see the light of day at some point since the smartphone was spotted online not long after its better-featured siblings went official. The only device that we haven’t heard of yet, the P9 Max has probably been listed at GFXBench, TechTastic reports. An unknown Huawei smartphone with a huge display is now part of the benchmark’s database, but we’re not yet sure this is the P9 Max. Apparently, the unannounced Huawei smartphone boasts a massive 6.9-inch capacitive touchscreen display, though the resolution supported is unknown for the moment. Fortunately, we know quite a lot about what’s under the hood. For example, GFXBench confirms the smartphone will be powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Kirin 950 processor, coupled with a Mali-T88- graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM. However, there’s a chance the prototype unit might have reported some of the specs wrong and the P9 Max will end up with 4GB of RAM inside, not 3GB. 16MP rear camera and 32GB storage At the back, the phablet should boast a 16-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, face detection, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there should be an 8-megapixel selfie camera for video calls. According to the listing at GFXBench, Huawei’s upcoming phablet will pack 32GB of storage, but there’s no mention of microSD card slot for memory expansion. Other highlights of the unnamed Huawei smartphone include accelerometer, barometer, Bluetooth, compass, GPS, lightsensor, NFC (Near Field Communication), pedometer, proximity sensor, Wi-Fi and gyroscope. Naturally, the smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, so there won’t be any unpleasant surprises when it comes to software. It remains to be seen whether or not Huawei will eventually make the P9 Max official in the not-so-distant future, so stay tuned.
  20. Meizu, one of the many popular Chinese handset makers, has recently unveiled its flagship smartphone, the PRO 6. The device will go on sale later this month, but it might not be the only one announced in April. The sequel to Meizu M2 has been recently spotted at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission, so we’re almost sure it will go official in the next couple of weeks. Although Meizu M3 will be initially introduced in China, we expect it to hit shelves in other countries, like India, at a later date. According to the listing at TENAA, the M3 doesn’t come with too many upgrades over the previous model. In fact, one of the major improvements is the chipset inside. Much better processor, slightly larger battery While the Meizu M2 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, the new model should come equipped with a 1.5GHz octa-core processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. As many Meizu fans have probably noticed by now, the M3 will come with the same amount of memory as the previous model, so there’s no improvement here. Also, Meizu M3 will sport the same 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. Another difference between the two mid-range Android smartphones is the battery. The M2 is powered by a non-removable 2,500 mAh battery whereas Meizu M3 will pack a slightly larger 2,800 mAh battery, though we’re not sure whether or not it will be removable. On the back, Meizu M3 will feature a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, and video recording while on the front there’s a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies. One thing that remains to be clarified is the operating system that will come inside the Meizu M3. The smartphone is listed at TENAA with YunOS 3.1.6, but we don’t know yet on which version of Android it is based.
  21. Chinese handset maker Huawei has recently introduced its flagship smartphones, the P9 and P9 Plus, but new products are about to hit shelves in the not-so-distant future. The unannounced Huawei Honor 5C has just been spotted at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission. Since it’s been certified, we expect it to be officially unveiled in the next couple of weeks, possibly by the end of April. The sequel to the Honor 4C, which was released last year on April 28, has a big chance of going official around the same date. According to TENAA, Huawei Honor 5C is a mid-range device that will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box. Huawei’s Emotion UI will run on top of the new OS, so those familiar with the user interface will feel at home on the Honor 5C. Hardware-wise, the Honor 5C will come equipped with a more than decent 64-bit octa-core Kirin 650 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot for memory expansion. Great cameras for a mid-range handset, premium design Huawei’s mid-range smartphone sports a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. It will also pack a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash, and video recording. An 8-megapixel front-facing camera will be included as well. There is no information on the battery powering the Huawei Honor 5C, but we know for sure the smartphone will pack a fingerprint scanner on the back side. When it comes to design, Huawei has tried to give the Honor 5C a premium look by adding a metal-looking finish, at least on the back. We’re still waiting for more details on the smartphone’s price and availability to emerge online, so stay tuned for updates on the matter. Potential customers should know that Huawei might launch a slightly improved version of the Honor 5C, which is supposed to include 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
  22. Bitdefender, one of the most popular developers of security solutions for desktop and mobile devices, has just launched an application that has nothing to do with the company’s main fieldwork. The application is called Road of the Castles and allows users to find Romanian historical monuments by providing them with GPS coordinates and some information about these places. The travel app offers a short description of each historical monument, along with a picture, which should make it easier for travelers to recognize them. Also, the application includes directions to these places so that users can reach them faster. In case you’re wondering what a travel app has to do with Bitdefender, a company that offers security solution, then you should know that you can win various medieval ranks using Road of the Castles. Check into these historical places and receive a medieval rank Each of these ranks is awarded with a security solution developed by Bitdefender. In order to get higher medieval ranks, all you have to do is check in when you visit some of these historical monuments. The more places you visit, the higher your medieval rank, so Bitdefender will offer you a more important reward. As mentioned earlier, the application will only work in Romania, as it provides directions to historical monuments in this country. Moreover, we don’t believe the travel app will launch for other regions, or at least not in the near future. You can now download Road of the Castles for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.1 and up. For iOS users, the app can be downloaded for free via App Store. It should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 8.0 or later. It’s also worth mentioning that the application allows users to send feedback with thoughts and suggestions, as well as information about historical monuments that haven’t been included yet.
  23. Warzone Firefight is one of the biggest additions coming to Halo 5: Guardians after launch and with a beta for the mode going live on the Xbox One today, the developers at 343 Industries are ready to talk a little more about their new take on an experience that has been introduced in previous installments of the shooter. Gamers who want to enjoy a fully cooperative experience will be able to join eight-man teams that will have to take out waves of powerful enemies while dealing with missions that allow them to get the resources to stay effective for longer periods of time. The official site offers a Question & Answer session about Warzone Firefight with David Ellis, multiplayer designer, and Lawrence Metten, a senior member of the same team, who explain that the surprises offered include dynamic objectives and extensive cooperation options for those who take part. The two 343 Industries developers add, "Dealing with more players and enemies than ever before in Halo, we’ve had to establish new methods for creating a compelling co-op encounter that presents a challenge for players across the wide variety of skill sets matchmaking entails." The mode is designed to give gamers access to the entire arsenal of REQ cards that gamers have collected in the game, which adds more variety to the experience and makes it more interesting to play the same maps again. Halo 5: Guardians is getting Warzone Firefight at some point during summer In order to make sure that gamers have the tools required to deal with the new Mythic AI enemies that will be added, the development team at 343 Industries is adding a new special REQ pack for a limited time, priced at 80,000 RP or 9.99 dollars or Euro. It will offer gamers access to ten Mythic single-use powers weapons and one ultra rare or Legendary weapon or vehicle certification. Warzone Firefight will be tested by the community over the weekend, and 343 Industries will use the feedback to further shape the mode before it is launched for all owners of Halo 5: Guardians during the summer. In April gamers received the Ghosts of Meridian DLC, which came with two new maps and balancing tweaks, and next month the developers are planning to introduce a new content package called Memories of Reach. Infection is another game mode for Halo 5: Guardians that has been recently tweaked, but the developers are not saying when they plan to add it or whether they will first test it using a beta.
  24. Total War: Warhammer is a huge video game that seeks to portray a big part of the Old World created by Games Workshop for their fantasy universe and a new video from developer The Creative Assembly is designed to show off some of the most impressive sights that the locations gamers can visit have to offer. The footage features a look at the cities of the Empire and the many threats spread around them, the lakes and groves that define Bretonnia, the mountains, and underground layers that the Dwarves guard, the snow-covered areas of Norsca and the weird marshes that Sylvania occupies. The new Old World themed video is an in-engine one and improvements to the graphical quality can be made before the game is officially launched. The Creative Assembly also says it plans to offer more details on how the environments of the universe will affect tactical battles and strategies in a series of new videos that are coming soon. Total War: Warhammer will be launched on May 24 of this year and will only be offered on the PC, with all those who place a pre-order for the title set to get access to the Chaos warrior faction alongside the other four core ones. The title has new systems for sieges and province management The Creative Assembly says that it is creating a title that is as authentic as possible to the fantasy setting of Warhammer and that it has tweaked many of the core mechanics of the Total War series to fit it. Neither of the four core factions will be able to occupy and use all the provinces on the map, which means that gamers will have to make tough decisions about which areas to pillage and where to create strong points to control territory. Sieges have been reworked so that the battle for the walls is more important in Total War: Warhammer than in other titles in the franchise, with more tension and drama. For the first time, the series will feature powerful magic users on the battlefield, and there are flying units that can disrupt battle lines and force gamers to quickly adapt their strategies. The Creative Assembly is also saying that it has plans to introduce both free and paid downloadable content packs for the strategy game in the coming months, introducing everything from new units to extra factions and powerful new Lords that come with interesting narratives attached.
  25. The development team at CD Projekt RED might be unwilling to announce officially when it is planning to launch the Wine and Blood expansion for The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, but the studio reveals a very interesting cover image for the coming content, which offers some small hints about the narrative. The art, which was delivered via the official Twitter account of the company, shows Geralt sitting on a throne with a goblet of wine in his hand while a monster seems ready to attack him. CD Projekt RED has not offered any details about the story of the Wine and Blood expansion, but they have confirmed that all the narrative will take place in a new region called Toussaint, which has not been affected by the war that has destroyed much of the rest of the game world. It seems that this peaceful area, which is dominated by a powerful noble family that is hiding a terrible secret, will allow Geralt to explore a side of his personality that was not shown in the main Witcher 3 campaign. According to the development team, the plan is to deliver enough content to keep gamers occupied for no less than 20 hours, which is quite a lot of time for an expansion for an open world title. Wine and Blood might be launched during June A rumor says that CD Projekt will be launching the expansion in June of this year, possibly on the seventh, to close up the Geralt saga and move on to other projects that they find more engaging. The Season Pass for The Witcher 3 includes both Blood and Wine and Heart of Stone, which is already available, for 24.99 dollars or Euro. CD Projekt has already said that it has no plans to continue to explore the world of Geralt in new video games so all those interested in the character would do well to pick up the expansion when it arrives. The focus of the studio will shift to its Cyberpunk 2077 project, which has been announced for a long time but will not arrive before 2017, and they are saying that they also want to explore other interesting ideas, maybe moving into an entirely new genre. According to the CEO, a new video game might be revealed before the end of the year, although it's unclear what kind of experience it will offer.
