  1. Thank you, I appreciate it. I will do my best to contribute as long as I have something worthwhile to post. I don't want to just spam my post count. After creating a post about live music trackers, I realized that I actually do have an account at Dimeadozen, which I didn't mention in my intro. The name and email are different than here though.
  2. Hi all, Two sites that I know of that have many concerts that are high-quality (FLAC) recordings are Dimeadozen and bt.etree. Are there others that I should be on the lookout for? I know that many concerts are not taped, but if a concert that I attended is out there somewhere, I'd like to maximize my chances of finding it. I am not as much concerned with band-specific sites; I'd just like to know the sites that the most prominent tapers upload to.
  3. Just a general question for the community: In your experience, do most trackers ban the use of VPNs? I was once temporarily banned from What.cd for accidentally leaving my VPN on while downloading, but explained the situation and my account was reïnstated. I am hoping to get an Apollo or Redacted invite eventually and I think both of those site ban VPNs too. The problem that I have with this is that ISPs collect (and can now sell and profit from) your personal data. I find this morally abhorrent and do not want to ever do anything on the internet without a VPN. In fact, I just joined this site yesterday and I'm not 100% on the rules when it is ok to have a VPN on (just while browsing, but not posting?) so I had to turn off my VPN just to create this post.
  4. A. Tell us something about yourself? My name is Jonathon and I'm in my 30s. My main hobby is music. I love collecting 'essentials' from any genre to learn about it, which often leads me to more specific micro-genres. My properly labeled music collection is about 480gb of mostly V0 mp3s, and probably at least that much that I haven't properly labeled with proper album artwork, double checked track listing and release date, properly capitalized titles, etc. I go to a lot of concerts but have had a significant drop-off in the past year and a half or so since What shut down. I used to check Oh My Rockness regularly and if there were upcoming shows that I could go to. Even if I hadn't heard of the band but recognized their name, I would download their most recent and most essential albums and decide whether to go to the show. If I decided I was going to the show, then I'd download the opening bands too to see if I should try to get there early enough to catch them. I've probably discovered more bands this way than any other (including the year-end lists from Cool Music Central, Pitchfork, NME, Stereogum, CoS, etc.) and wound up going to shows of those bands too the next time they toured. I was the person who promoted (they might say harassed) all my favorite bands to friends. So What.cd shutting down actually changed my life. I am not going to random concerts when I don't know what the band sounded like, so now it seems like I go to fewer and fewer concerts and discover fewer and fewer new bands. I can't even go to festivals anymore because What was how I learned about the majority of non-headliners, which wound up being the best part of the festival because of the smaller crowd sizes. B. How did you find InviteHawk? I've been desperate for a What replacement since they shut down but I've been busy immigrating to Canada over the past year, so it wasn't the priority that it is now that I'm settled in. I periodically visit Reddit's trackers subreddit only to consistently be disappointed that it seems impossible to get into a tracker that is even close What. I found this site while searching how to get invites. C. What Torrent Sites are you looking for? (Mention none if just browsing) Based on what I've seen Redacted (1.1 million torrents) and Apollo (715k) have far and away the most torrents. I think third place was under 200k. I would love to get into one of those two. D. Do you use the same email on InviteHawk as well as on trackers? (If yes, change it from your profile or contact a staff member) I do not currently have any other trackers and I did not use this email address with What.cd, but I did use this username on What. E. Do you have any suggestions for InviteHawk? I haven't been here long enough to speak on this.
