Motorola One gets certified in China: Design, battery capacity, and more get reconfirmed

Over in China, Motorola recently announced the P30 which looks suspiciously like a blend between Apple’s iPhone X and the Huawei P20 Pro. Anyhow, this is eventually expected to be joined by the P30 Play and P30 Note in the market. And, while it’s unclear which is which, one of them has just been certified and appears to be the Chinese version of the Motorola One.

The device, which goes by the model number XT1941-2, coincides perfectly with what is known about the Motorola One thanks to the premium glass build on the rear and the polished frame. Additionally, the vertically-aligned camera sensors can also be seen in the images, as can the dual-tone LED flash and the rear Motorola logo that presumably doubles as a fingerprint scanner. Moving over to the front panel, the Motorola One is set to debut with a notched display, much like the Motorola P30. While this isn’t visible in the images due to the lighting conditions, the sensor layout above does provide an indication of its presence. Regardless of this, however, a chin down below is clearly present and is home to the Motorola branding. On one final design note, the right side of the frame includes an elongated volume rocker and a dedicated power button.

On the topic of specifications, the certification listing in question doesn’t provide many details other than the fact that the display sits at 5.86-inches in size and will be backed up by a 3,000mAh battery. However, a benchmark listing yesterday did confirm the presence of a Snapdragon 625 and 4GB of RAM. Additionally, while the smartphone will launch with ZenUI 4.0 in China, the international variant will include stock Android as part of the Android One Program. For now, though, it’s unclear which version will be pre-installed.

Currently, the Motorola One looks set to make its debut alongside the Motorola One Power sometime next month and will presumably act as indirect replacements for last year’s Moto X4. If this is the case, price tags that sit somewhere between $300 and $400 should be expected.
