  3. Becky Hill is already planning her second album - after waiting nine years to bring out her debut LP. The 27-year-old singer brought out 'Only Honest On The Weekend' on Friday (27.08.21) and after biding her time to release the record, Becky doesn't want to wast any time on her next collection of tracks. Speaking to BANG Showbiz, she said: "In November I’m going to start writing again and experimenting with new sounds and new phase of music for me, I'm very excited about that. "I’m going to get my tour done first, I want to play my new album to people on the road, that is really exciting." Discussing her journey to her first full LP, she explained: It’s taken me a very long time to convince somebody to let me release this album. I’m overjoyed that Polydor have facilitated this dream of mine. “You know, in 2012 I was on 'The Voice', I was 17 just turning 18, I’m 27 now. So nine years in the making to have an album, which is pretty crazy!” The 'Better Off Without You' hitmaker already has a vision for her follow-up record and she wants to include live instruments on her tracks, after being inspired by the 'Ibiza Classics' concerts which she played with Pete Tong, The Heritage Orchestra and Jules Buckley. She spilled: "My album incorporates a bit of a different side to me in terms of the ballads that are on there, more piano based tracks, and the synth pop led tracks. There’s definitely a part of me that wants to include my influences, artists like Robyn, in everything that I do. “I have a love for dance music and always have done since I was a child. I would love to experiment with more instruments, namely live instrumentation in dance music so you can get that live stage feel while being on the dance floor. “I’ll definitely be upping the budget on album two and making sure there’s lots of live instruments on there, I think it could really be a breath of fresh air for dance pop music. “I was on tour with Pete Tong for the 'Ibiza Classics' shows, I’ve been doing that show for around four years now and I’ve seen how live instrumentation can take dance music to an epic scale. That show has been amazing to be a part of, to be a part of other people’s nostalgia as well." Becky - whose new single 'My Heart Goes (La Di Da)' featuring Topic is out now - is very proud of her LP and she she is certain that her fans will love it too. She said: "I do feel as though the album is all killer and no filler." 'Only Honest On The Weekend' tracklist: 1. I Got You 2. Last Time 3. Make It Hard To Love You 4. Better Off Without You (feat. Shift K3Y) 5. Remember (and David Guetta) 6. Perfect People 7. My Heart Goes (La Di Da) (feat. Topic) 8. Could Be My Somebody (feat. S1mba) 9. Business (feat. Ella Eyre) 10. Waiting Not Looking 11. Distance 12. Lessons (feat. Banx & Ranx) 13. Heaven On My Mind (with Sigala) 14. Is Anybody There
  4. The Jacksons will perform a tribute to their late brother Michael Jackson ahead of his birthday when they headline the Happy Days Festival this Saturday (28.08.21). The 'I Want You Back' hitmakers will headline the festival the day before what would have been Michael's 63rd birthday on Sunday (29.08.21) and Tito Jackson has revealed that he and his siblings will be singing a selection of songs by the 'King of Pop' - who died in June 2009 at the age of 50 - to remember him ahead of the poignant date. When asked if Michael - who first found fame with his family as the lead singer in the Jackson 5 - would be remembered during their set, Tito said: "Absolutely, it’s going to be fun. We will sing songs from his albums, like 'Rock With You' and 'Can’t Let You Get Away'. “We’ve been doing tributes to Michael for some time now, it’s one of my favourite parts of the show. “We miss him and we miss being on records on with him.” The concert is the first time The Jacksons will have been back on stage since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and Tito insists those in attendance can expect all the hits from the Jackson 5's Motown days and their disco period. Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I'm excited. "The fans can expect to hear the Jackson 5 hit records with a lot of energy." During the coronavirus lockdown Tito recorded a new solo album, the blues inspired 'Under Your Spell', and he will be performing his single 'Love One Another' during the set and he hopes people will take away the track's message to spread love and positivity throughout the world. The 67-year-old singer said: "I’ll be doing a song from my new album, 'Love One Another'. “During lockdown I recorded a complete album. I’ve wanted to do a blues album for some time. You know blues is a style of music that I’ve always enjoyed so I decided it was the right time to make a blues album." Discussing the star-studded video for the song - which features the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, basketball legend Magic Johnson, world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, Smokey Robinson and Tito's sister Janet Jackson among many others - he added: "I had a lot of participation because of the message of the song. I’m trying to get that message out there, it’s very difficult for one person to push that message, but these guys helped it reach further then I could ever probably reach.” The Happy Days Festival (www.hdfestival.co.uk) takes place at Imber Court in Esher, Surrey, this Saturday and Sunday. Joining The Jacksons on Saturday's bill is fellow legendary Motown act Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, R&B group Shalamar and Harold Melvin's Bluenotes. Taking to the stage on Sunday is the House Gospel Choir, Soul II Soul, Stereo MC's, Alison Limerick and Sonique.
  5. Surviving Nirvana members and Kurt Cobain's estate are being sued by the baby who appeared on their Nevermind album cover, with him claiming the image constitutes child pornography. Spencer Elden, now 30, appeared on the iconic 1991 album cover as a four-month-old baby swimming in a pool towards a dollar bill dangling from a fishhook. He filed a lawsuit at the U.S. District Court's Central District of California on Tuesday alleging that the image - which exposed his genitalia - constituted child pornography. "Defendants intentionally commercially marketed Spencer's child pornography and leveraged the shocking nature of his image to promote themselves and their music at his expense," the lawsuit reads, reports Variety. "Defendants used child pornography depicting Spencer as an essential element of a record promotion scheme commonly utilized in the music industry to get attention, wherein album covers posed children in a sexually provocative manner to gain notoriety, drive sales, and garner media attention, and critical reviews." Elden is seeking at least $150,000 (ÂŁ109,000) from each of the defendants - surviving band members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic; Courtney Love, Cobain's widow and executor of his estate; Guy Oseary and Heather Parry, managers of Cobain's estate; photographer Kirk Weddle; art director Robert Fisher; and the record companies involved with the release. Original drummer Chad Channing is also listed as a defendant, despite him leaving the band in 1990. "Weddle took a series of sexually graphic nude photographs of Spencer," the filing continues. "At least one or more film cartridges were exposed in a short period of time which included at least 40 or 50 different image shots of Spencer. Cobain chose the image depicting Spencer - like a sex worker - grabbing for a dollar bill that is positioned dangling from a fishhook in front of his nude body with his penis explicitly displayed." Elden, who has repeatedly recreated the pose over the past three decades, with clothes on, also alleges that he was never compensated for the photo outside of the $200 (ÂŁ145) his parents were given on the day of the shoot. The lawsuit also claims that neither Elden nor his parents signed any paperwork authorising the use of the image. Representatives for the defendants have yet to comment on the legal action.
  6. Rolling Stones stars Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood have paid tribute to their late bandmate Charlie Watts. The drummer passed away "peacefully" at the age of 80 at a London hospital on Tuesday surrounded by his family, and music industry icons such as Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John paid tribute to him on social media following the announcement. Now the rocker's bandmates have added their tributes, with Jagger simply sharing a photo of Watts laughing while playing the drums. He added no caption to the Twitter post. Richards took a similar route and wrote no caption alongside his Instagram and Twitter tribute, which showed a drum kit with a "closed" shop sign hanging off of it. However, Wood opted for a caption when he posted a photo of himself and Watts dressed in smart clothing across his social media accounts. "I love you my fellow Gemini~ I will dearly miss you ~you are the best," he simply wrote, followed by praying hands, heart and sunshine emojis. Elsewhere in the music industry, The Who's Roger Daltrey said in a statement, "Charlie was a truly great drummer, whose musical knowledge of drumming technique, from jazz to the blues, was, I'm sure, the heartbeat that made The Rolling Stones the best rock and roll band in the world." Bryan Adams tweeted, "RIP Charlie Watts, one of the greatest rock drummers ever and a real gentleman. Condolences to his family and the band," while Nile Rodgers wrote, "Rest In Power #CharlieWatts RIP. You are a smooth brother. Thanks for all the great music." It was announced earlier this month that Watts would be sitting out of the band's upcoming U.S. tour to recover from an unspecified medical procedure.
