  3. An Australian artist and programmer has created a website that claims to let people download "every NFT" on the Ethereum blockchain in one go. NFTs are digital tokens that proponents say can prove ownership of digital items - including artwork. Many have sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars, even though anybody can view the attached artwork. Geoffrey Huntley, who created the NFT Bay "piracy" website, said he wanted to show people what they were buying. As reported by the tech news site Motherboard, Mr Huntley's website is modelled after the Pirate Bay, a well-known software and movie piracy website. The NFT Bay purports to offer "all NFTs from Ethereum and Solana" - two cryptocurrency networks - in a whopping 17 terabyte (TB) file. Critics of NFTs point out that anybody can access, download and copy the digital artwork attached to the "token of ownership". "NFT art right now is nothing more then directions on how to access or download an image. The image is not stored on the blockchain," said Mr Huntley. However, proponents of cryptocurrency say owning the NFT carries clout and bragging rights - and that simply right-clicking and saving an image is not the same. While the NFT Bay download contains images of NFT artwork, it does not contain any of the digital tokens that "prove ownership". Mr Huntley hopes the website means "future generations can study this generation's tulip mania" - a reference to one of the most famous examples of a financial bubble.
  4. Bitcoin’s put options become pricier amid Fed rate hike fears. Bitcoin put options, derivatives offering downside protection, continue to become pricier, implying bearish sentiment. The price volatility may rise as major exchanges, including Deribit, are due to settle monthly options on Friday. The three-month put-call skew, which measures the cost of puts relative to calls, has turned positive, hit a 6-week high of 3%, according to data provided by the crypto derivatives research firm Skew. The positive number shows that put options are drawing higher prices or demand than calls or bullish bets. At the start of the month, the three-month gauge stood at -5%, indicating a bullish bias. The one-week and one-month put-call skews have seen similar ascents this month and are signaling bearish bias with above-zero prints. The six-month put-call skew has turned neutral. A positive skew does not necessarily mean traders are taking outright bearish bets rather they could be adding downside protection against long positions in the spot or futures markets. In any case, it indicates fear in the market, which is warranted, given bitcoin’s 16% fall after hitting a record high of $68,990 on Nov. 10. Concerns that the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) may chalk out a faster end to its two-year stimulus program and the resulting strength in the dollar appear to have driven the cryptocurrency lower. The dollar index, which tracks the greenback’s value against major fiat currencies, has increased by 3% since the hotter-than-expected U.S. inflation data released on Nov. 10. The Fed began cutting back on the monthly bond-buying program from this month and stands ready to accelerate the unwinding of stimulus if things continue to heat up. Minutes from the November Fed meeting released on Wednesday shows that policymakers were willing to raise interest rates if inflation continues to rise. So, the dollar may remain strong in the coming weeks, keeping bitcoin gains under check. Options expiry Data provided by Skew shows a total of 51,900 options contracts worth nearly $3 billion are due for expiry on Friday. About $2.5 billion worth of options will be settled by Deribit, the world’s largest crypto options exchange, at 08:00 am UTC. The majority of open interest is concentrated in call options at strikes above bitcoin’s record price. The max pain, or the price level at which option buyers would suffer the most loss on expiry, is $58,000. According to a theory, the max pain acts as a magnet while heading into the expiry as option sellers, typically large institutions, buy or sell the underlying asset to keep the price around key levels to inflict maximum loss on buyers. While there is no evidence of sellers using such strategies in the bitcoin market, the cryptocurrency has, in the past, moved in the direction of the max pain point ahead of expiry and gained strong directional bias after the settlement. So, the prospects of a big move in the next day or two cannot be ruled out, more so, as volumes are likely to be thin due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Bitcoin was last seen trading near $58,200, representing a 1.8% gain on the day.
  5. What was the first CD you ever bought and why? Just as simple as that. I'll go first. The first album i bought was by The Magic numbers and was self titled which was released in 2005. The first two tracks of this album are awesome and i loved them. That was the only reason i bought that cd. I have taken good care of my cd and it still lies in my music collection. I was 15 years old then. Since then my music cd collection has only been expanding.
  6. The opening ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics was one of the most anticipated events of this year. In Japan, the lucky few could watch it in an ultra-high 8K resolution with 22.2 surround sound. This subsequently resulted in the first pirated 8K rip appearing on pirate sites, which is a major milestone by itself. tokyo 2020Attracting billions of eyeballs from all over the world, the Summer Olympics is the most watched sporting event. While sports achievements are the main focus, the opening ceremony attracts one of the biggest audiences. This was no different last Friday when the Tokyo 2020 officially opened. In the past, we also noticed a massive interest in the Olympics on various pirate sites. In 2008, the opening ceremony of the 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing was downloaded millions of times through torrent sites, for example. Four years later, The Pirate Bay joined in when the site renamed itself the “Olympic Bay,” providing users with a direct link to newly uploaded torrents for the London 2012 games. For the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, we haven’t noticed much activity on torrent sites. The opening ceremony and the sporting events are pirated on streaming sites, however, especially when cheap legal alternatives are lacking. Despite the lacking Olympic torrents buzz, there’s still a major milestone to report. A few days after the Olympics got started, an 8K HLG rip of the opening ceremony with 22.2 surround sound started circulating on a private torrent site. To our knowledge, this is the first time that a mainstream broadcast has been ripped in this quality. The release comes from the group TrollUHD, which is known for its high-resolution releases. The full ceremony is 135 Gigabytes in size, which means that it will take a while to download. olympics 8k torrent The source of the file is not mentioned, but the HLG format and the 22.2 audio matches up with the broadcast specs from Japan’s public broadcaster NHK. Other countries have 8K broadcasts as well, but without the 22.2 audio. It’s only fitting that NHK’s broadcast is the first 8K mainstream release to get pirated. The Japanese company was the first to start working on 8K video in 1995, which was codenamed ‘Super Hi-Vision’ at the time. NHK Science & Technology Research Laboratories also developed 22.2 surround sound. While the first pirated 8K release is a milestone, the intended audience is rather small. Downloading the file – which requires access to a private community – is only the first hurdle. Most people simply don’t have the hardware to support playback of these types of video and audio. This challenge is also reflected in the comments from downloaders, where many people indicated that they struggled to get it to work. Over the past few days, the International Olympic Committee worked hard to take down and block pirated content. This is in line with earlier comments, where the organization said that it’s extremely concerned with piracy. But given the small audience, we don’t think that 8K worries them too much now.
  7. Actor Adam Driver says he isn't averse to reprising his role as Kylo Ren/Ben Solo in Star Wars, as long as "great filmmakers" are involved. Adam Driver says he isn't averse to reprising his role as Kylo Ren (A.K.A. Ben Solo) in the Star Wars universe. Driver first debuted in the series in 2015's The Force Awakens as the fallen child of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher). Reception to the Star Wars sequel trilogy has been tepid at best, though Driver's portrayal of Ben is nearly unanimously praised as one of the best of the series. Despite the character's beloved reception, he was killed off in the final installment of the trilogy, 2019's The Rise of Skywalker, after sacrificing himself to bring Rey (Daisy Ridley) back from death. Ben's somewhat anticlimactic death caused backlash from fans who felt that there was still more of the character's story left to tell. Others felt that Ben sacrificing himself to save someone he loved was too much of a retread of Darth Vader's arc in 1983's Return of the Jedi. Either way, reactions to the conclusion of the character's arc have proved to be divisive at best. However, thanks to the Star Wars franchise's capricious attitude toward character deaths, there are still several potential avenues for Ben to return post-The Rise of Skywalker if Disney chooses to pursue them (e.g. returning as a Force spirit a la Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda). Driver himself seems to acknowledge as much. In a recent interview with UNILAD, the 38-year old actor said that he's "totally not against" returning to Star Wars. Driver emphasizes that he most values "working with great filmmakers" over any other aspect of the job; he doesn't necessarily factor in the scale or visibility of a given project as long as he's working with filmmakers who meet his standards. Plans for Star Wars stories set post-The Rise of Skywalker are a closely guarded mystery. Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron film was rumored to take place following the events of the sequel trilogy, though sources recently reported that the project is shelved due to creative differences. It seems that the studio is more intent on fleshing out their streaming shows for the time being to create some distance from the divisive reactions to the sequel trilogy. Driver was without a doubt one of the strongest aspects of Disney's sequel trilogy. His return to the Star Wars franchise would surely drum up a significant amount of interest in whatever his next outing would be, regardless of the project's premise. Hopefully, Disney takes note of the character's popularity and considers future stories that will take full advantage of Driver's impeccable acting sensibilities.
  8. Thor: Love and Thunder writer, Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, recently revealed that she briefly worked behind the scenes on Disney+'s latest MCU original series, Hawkeye. Ever since Marvel Studios resumed releasing new projects earlier this year, their latest line-up of projects have touched on a variety of eclectic genres and storytelling styles. MCU films have always varied in scope, but this has never been more apparent than the transition from WandaVision, to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and finally to Loki when Disney+ released their first slate of original streaming series earlier this year. Now, the MCU environment is such that a writer like Robinson can jump from working on a ground-level hero like Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) to a literal god like Thor (Chris Hemsworth). While Thor: Love and Thunder is still half a year away, Hawkeye just debuted its first two episodes earlier today on Disney+. The series sees Renner reprising his MCU role of Clint Barton as he comes out of his brief retirement to mentor a new young vigilante named Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). On the other hand, most of Thor's premise is under wraps, apart from confirmation that Natalie Portman will return to the franchise to tackle Jane Foster's cancer storyline, which first appeared in the comics. Despite the wildly different stories, Robinson seems to have had a hand in bringing both projects to fruition. Robinson recently tweeted a congratulatory message in light of Hawkeye's debut on Disney+. In her tweet, she revealed that she "Got to spend a little time [...] last summer working on Hawkeye. Hawkeye and Thor: Love and Thunder will touch on completely different corners of the Marvel universe, but they are both sure to contain plenty of comedic moments. Robinson herself has experience helming her own comedy projects, like Someone Great and Unpregnant. Hawkeye has already showcased its whimsical tone and witty banter in the two episodes that have debuted, as well as the countless trailers and TV spots released to promote the show. No snippets of Thor: Love and Thunder have released as of yet, though the creative duo of Robinson and Taika Waititi (as well as Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gunn to a limited extent) all but guarantee a comedic tone. With so many MCU projects on the horizon, it makes sense that the studio would reuse familiar talents across their shows and films. Disney will have to be logistically efficient if they want to maintain the colossal release slate that they've established for the next several years. With Hawkeye now airing and Thor: Love and Thunder just around the corner, hopefully Robinson will continue to find work with Disney's flagship properties.
  9. A new piece of fan art for Spider-Man: No Way Home shows Doctor Strange conjuring Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland’s characters. Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange was first introduced in his 2016 solo film and has since become a main character in the MCU. Doctor Strange was believed to be the one to fix the Sacred Timeline after Sylvie kills He Who Remains. However, the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailers show that Strange will have his hands full with Peter Parker after a spell brings in villains from other universes. While it’s been known for a while that Spider-Man: No Way Home will bring in multiple villains from past Spider-Man movies, the big question is still if Maguire and Garfield will make an appearance. Reports on their return surfaced after Jamie Foxx was cast as Electro and Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, yet Marvel and the actors have consistently denied that they will appear in the sequel. A supposedly leaked set video made its way online a few months ago of Garfield back in his Spidey suit, but Disney of course wouldn’t confirm whether it was real or not. At this point, it seems likely that fans won’t get to find out if the veteran Spider-Man actors are returning until Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters this December. Even though there hasn’t been any official confirmation of Maguire and Garfield’s return, the newest Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer supported theories that the actors are indeed returning. One of the biggest clues came when Holland’s Spider-Man leaped through the air at Sandman, Electro, and the Lizard. Electro and Lizard don’t appear to be jumping toward anything, and in the Brazilian trailer, Lizard is punched by an invisible figure. This, along with MJ falling being reminiscent of Gwen Stacy’s death in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, has led many to believe Marvel simply edited Maguire and Garfield out of the trailer to keep their roles a secret. Spider-Man: No Way Home is clearly one of the most anticipated titles of the year and in MCU’s Phase 4. Marvel has taken their time marketing the movie and just released the first official poster and second trailer this month. The marketing push will likely pick up now that the film is only a month away. That being said, Maguire and Garfield likely won’t appear in any promotional material until after the movie is released. Disney has done a great job of building excitement for Spider-Man: No Way Home by including villains from Sam Raimi and Marc Webb’s movies. So even though Garfield and Maguire haven’t been revealed just yet, Disney’s marketing team has still almost guaranteed a solid box office performance for the sequel. But that hasn’t stopped artists like spdrmnkyxxiii from imagining what the crossover could look like. The artwork shows Doctor Strange opening three portals as Garfield, Holland, and Maguire’s Spider-Man characters crawl into the same universe. The artist’s colorful piece can be seen in the post below:
