John Wick Is On The Run In New Photos From Chapter 3

Keanu Reeves is on the run with Halle Berry in new photos from John Wick: Chapter 3. Reeves' action star career was revitalized in 2014 with the release of John Wick. The first film was a smaller, action heavy film that thrived on a simple premise and low budget. Lionsgate quickly turned the IP into a franchise and we're nearing the release of the third installment now.

John Wick 3 will once again be directed by Chad Stahelski, who has helmed every entry in the franchise - including co-directing the first with David Leitch. But, as made clear by the end of John Wick: Chapter 2, the odds are stacked against the Boogeyman. He went against the High Table and broke Continental rules, putting a bounty on his head. He will be running for his life in the the third film, or even riding a horse based on previous set photos. John's journey will lead him to Sofia, a new character in the franchise played by Halle Berry, as he tries to stay alive any way he can.

In addition to the photos, EW also shared some additional plot details about the movie. Starting with Sofia's pictured dogs, it was revealed by Stahelski that, just like John, the dogs are a symbol for Sofia of losing someone she loved. But, these dogs will actually be getting in on the action, as the director stated an entire action sequence was built around Sofia's "canine assistants." Other new additions to the franchise like Mark Dacascos and Asia Kate Dillon were also confirmed to be part of the High Table, while Anjelica Huston plays "someone who was responsible for [Wick’s] upbringing and his protection.”

The combination of images and plot details help shape what John Wick: Chapter 3 will be about, but also how it will look. The franchise has so far been very successful without needing to dive too deep into John's background, so it will be interesting to see how much of his "origin" they reveal. With the film due to hit theaters in May 2019, the release of these photos hopefully signal a trailer is on the way sometime soon, maybe even right after the holidays are over. John Wick: Chapter 3 has the chance to be a great conclusion to a fantastic trilogy of action films, so fans will surely be crossing their fingers that it can do just that.
