Leaked Huawei P30 Lite press renders showcase extra rear camera, tiny notch

Joining the flagship Huawei P30 and P30 Pro later on this month will be the mid-range Huawei P30 Lite. On the inside, this smartphone will be completely different from its flagship siblings. But as confirmed by a set of leaked press renders, the device will be quite similar on the outside.

As is the case with most of Huawei’s recent smartphones, the Huawei P30 Lite comes equipped with a notched display. In this particular case, it boasts a diagonal of 6.15-inches and pairs slim side bezels with a slightly thicker chin. A resolution of 2312 x 1080p is present too.

Like the front, the rear of this phone isn't anything too unique either. In fact, the device is almost identical to the upcoming Huawei P30. The only noticeable difference upon first glance is the fingerprint reader – Huawei’s flagship boasts an in-display solution.

As visible in the images, there are three vertically-aligned cameras in the top corner which are paired with an LED flash. The primary sensor boasts a 24-megapixel resolution while the second and third are said to be 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras respectively. At this moment in time, though, the functionality of each one remains unclear.

Internally, the Huawei P30 Lite should arrive equipped with the company’s mid-range Kirin 710. This chip can be compared to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 when it comes to performance. According to previous leaks, the processor will sit alongside 128GB of internal storage and the choice of either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Android 9 Pie straight out of the box is to be expected too.

The Huawei P30 Lite will reportedly cost €369 ($417) when it launches in early April. The smartphone should be available in White, Black, and Blue.
