The beef returns in Vegas

Robbie Williams has reignited his feud with Liam Gallagher, calling upon his fans to Tweet abuse at him during a show at his Las Vegas residency.

Despite briefly being friends in the ’90s, the pair have often had a sharp exchange of words ever since. Now, Williams has landed the latest blow while performing at The Encore Hotel in Las Vegas.

“If you have enjoyed the show, I have been Robbie Williams,” he said at the end of the show, as The Sun reports. “And if you haven’t and you are upset about anything, I have been Liam Gallagher.”

He continued: “In fact, if you want to start a hashtag, you can put ‘Liam Gallagher was shit tonight’, if you want.”

It reignites a long-running feud between Robbie Williams and the Gallaghers. He famously challenged Liam to a fight at the 2000 Brit Awards, and told Noel to “kiss my perfectly formed backside” onstage in 2010. The brothers responded in kind, with Liam calling him “a fat fucking idiot” in 2013, and Noel referring to him as “the fat dancer from Take That.”

Back in 2017, Robbie praised Liam – telling NME: “I’d do a song with him. My favourite song of the year is his track ‘For What It’s Worth’. I think it’s the best song either Liam or Noel has written in the last 20 years.”

“It’s amazing and timeless; it just hits that sweet spot. It’s universal and speaks straight to the heart. He just got it completely right. I love it.”

However, he also recently said that he believed Oasis would reform due to Noel and Liam’s solo careers being “not great“.

“Liam Gallagher has just come back and he’s done pretty well,” said Williams. “He had a platinum record with his solo album and I think that’s what everybody was waiting for. I think the next time he releases an album it won’t do as well. Noel’s album didn’t do too good either. I think it sold like 70,000 copies or something, which for Noel isn’t great.”

He added: “If they’re anything like me, which I think they are, they will want to be doing the most successful thing they can do, and the most successful thing they can do is a reunion. I think they’ll both need to do it.”

Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher has been adding the finishing touches to his upcoming second solo album before a run of world tour dates – including a performance at Glastonbury 2019.
