Brian Cox has a way with words, especially when they’re as delightfully caustic as those he spouts in the new teaser trailer for Succession season 2. The acclaimed series from creator and showrunner Jesse Armstrong is set to return to HBO in August, as the Roy family’s dysfunction is once again put on display when a rival company threatens a corporate takeover of the largest media conglomerate on the planet. But that’s not going to happen without a fight, one family patriarch Logan is willing to do anything to win, even if that means bringing his drug-addled son Kendall (Jeremy Strong) back into the fray.

The series is coming back roughly a year from when the first season ended (there isn’t a firm premiere date for season 2 yet), which means its high time for audiences to get back in touch with the Roy family and especially cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun) and Tom (Matthew Macfadyen), a pair of MVPs when it comes to the show’s unique brand of foul-mouthed (in more ways than one) humor, as well as its most overt displays of corporate malfeasance and incompetence. In fact, the pair get a great bit in the new trailer in which they discuss Greg’s principles, or lack thereof.

Season 1 of Succession focused largely on Kendall’s various failed attempts to stage a hostile takeover of his father’s corporation, Waystar Royco, the final one ending in a Chappaquiddick-esque car accident that more or less helped Logan brush his woebegone son to the side, where he could presumably do less harm. As it turns out, Kendall is more or less being brought back into the company in season 2, much to the chagrin of his younger brother Roman (Kieran Culkin), who makes his opinion known before admitting he’s powerless to do anything about it.
