Director: James Mangold

Writers: Steven Rogers and James Mangold

Cast: Hugh Jackman, Meg Ryan, Liev Schreiber, Breckin Meyer, Natasha Lyonne, and Bradley Whitford

Before he made Logan or Ford v Ferrari or Walk the Line, filmmaker Jams Mangold put his stamp on the romcom genre with the terrific 2001 film Kate & Leopold. The story begins in 1876, where Leopold (Hugh Jackman), His Grace the 3rd Duke of Albany, stumbling upon an amateur physicist from the 21st century. He follows the physicist and accidentally travels to the year 2001, where he struggles to come to terms with the changed world and falls for a cynical and ambitious woman played by Meg Ryan. Equal parts charming and smart, this is a really well-made romcom that kind of got lost to time. – Adam Chitwood
