Which encodes do you prefer?

x264 because, not all the media streaming devices are cool with x265/HEVC.

h264 since it is supported on every device. And most h265 are just encodes form blurays which are h264, so it's just re-encoding.

I like x265 more because I have a plex server, less data stored less data trasnferred. 

If its something tho thats for me only locally, x264 looks better.

Honestly I just use srrdb to search for legit scene releases, then decide on a case-by-case basis. A lot of 1080p x265 releases are just reencodes of x264 which is lame.
