Well, I can see the film makers association appealing because of lost money so to speak.

Really, What is in it for them? I mean going after people that make a home copy which is allowed is not going to bring in a lot anyways.

It would do the movie companies more harm then good because people would stop buying movies because ( insert movie company here) would be hounding them for making a back up copy. It would also cause more people to download said movie anyways.

Some times I do wish the movie studios would stop and think for once and see that hounding the general public does not increase profit, but decreases because people will not buy from them.
