Dataxis is helding today a new virtual panel, focused on the broadband boom and new pirate TV streaming services in Latin America, which will take place at 1:00 PM (ART), and will be sponsored by Irdeto. Registration can be done for free through this link.

For the event, entitled ‘Latin American broadband boom and new pirate TV streaming services’, Dataxis will join four executives specialized in the matter, such as Sergio Piris, Manager of Criminal Counseling, Technological Crimes and Anti-piracy at Telecom Argentina; Gus Rojo, Intelligence Analyst at Irdeto; Rodrigo Aliaga, Director at Digital TV Cable; and Sergio Octavio Valdes Beltran, Manager of External and Regulatory Affairs at DirecTV Colombia.

Large and small operators are deploying FTTH all across Latin America. Bandwidth growth is an entrance door for new pirate multichannel streaming services. Many small operators are turning a blind eye to it, to push GPON penetration, due to the fall of profitability of pay TV services in many Latam countries. How the pay TV industry could face this next generation of piracy.

Some of the main topics to be debated include how to protect content in the new ultra-broadband era; new legal models to address the demand; identifying and blocking illegal services; riskiest countries for online piracy; and other issues.

The panel is organized by the Dataxis Nextv Series Latin America Virtual Panel division. Dataxis is a global company focused on detailed market research, high quality events and powerful specialized media for the telecommunications and TV markets in more than 200 countries around the world. It is headquartered in Europe, Latin America and Africa.
