This is total BS. Instead of going for real criminal they are catching people who release movies for the poor to watch. It's not like the studios will suddenly see a huge surge of income. Those who can't\won't pay will always find a way to watch for free.

Many people would argue that piracy is about convenience, rather than cost. A classic example is StarCraft 2, which had a singleplayer campaign that you couldn't play offline because of the DRM. The cracked game could be played offline, so people played that version. This argument further suggests that piracy doesn't hurt game sales, decisions like that hurt game sales.

And that stupid and unnecessary Denuvo protection that is lowering performance. Some of those that bought a game with Denuvo were playing the cracked version, because with Denuvo removed performance was better.

The latest Cyberpunk game uses no protection and still has excellent sales even thought it is half baked product with lots of issues.

I'm fairly sure they're gonna add something on top of the piracy charges to extend his jail time... sad they we're a good group, I liked their releases
