A Godzilla vs. Kong toy confirms the new weapon Kong uses to fight Godzilla. Legendary's MonsterVerse launched in 2014 and the reboot of Godzilla became a sizable box office hit after grossing over $525 million worldwide. After Kong: Skull Island topped $550M a few years later, the MonsterVerse moved forward with a Godzilla sequel and plans for the two leading Titans to square off.

While Godzilla vs. Kong has a great ensemble cast and has Adam Wingard directing, the film's real draw is the inevitable fight between the legendary monsters. Their fights have already been at the forefront of Godzilla vs. Kong's marketing. The snippets of footage released show them battling aboard a battleship and again at night in a city. The latter included some exciting footage, as Kong was shown leaping through the air with a weapon in hand that could withstand Godzilla's atomic breath. Although the atomic breath mostly concealed the weapon, a Godzilla vs. Kong toy confirms what the King of the Apes is holding.

Following the latest teaser to generate excitement for the upcoming full trailer release, one fan - @megat_Hiroki - shared an image of a leaked toy for Godzilla vs. Kong. The toy is for a figure of Kong with his Battle-Axe, which is the weapon the giant ape is using. Although the toy leaked almost a year ago, it was not confirmed at the time if it was an accurate representation of the movie. Toy companies often take liberties with movie-based merchandise, but now it is confirmed Kong will use the axe in Godzilla vs. Kong.

With this new Battle-Axe, Kong should be an even greater threat to Godzilla in the movie. Although he was considerably smaller than Gojira during Kong: Skull Island, the ape was still quite young at the time. The marketing for Godzilla vs. Kong has made it clear Kong has grown a lot in the decades since and is now roughly the same size as the giant lizard. However, the image of the toy and the footage utilizing the axe could add more credence to the theory that Kong's weapon is made from a piece of Godzilla. The suggestion here is that Kong gets one of Godzilla's dorsal plates somehow and uses it as the basis for a weapon to take the beast down.

Now that Godzilla vs. Kong is highlighting some of Kong's new weapons and abilities, it will be fascinating to see if the full trailer shows how Godzilla is different this time. He was more powerful than ever by the end of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, so he might not even need additional abilities to take on Kong. Of course, there is every expectation that Godzilla vs. Kong will eventually see the two creatures team up to take down a larger threat. This could be where Kong's axe really comes in handy as he and Godzilla use their combined strength to defeat something else. No matter what, it will surely be fun to see how Kong uses his Battle-Axe.
