Netflix’s Twitter Misspelled Gundam & Hilariously Corrects It

Netflix misspelled Gundam on Twitter but shared the perfect correction afterward. Gundam is a popular media franchise that began in 1979 with the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam. It played a key role in the real robot sector of the mecha anime genre. The original 1979 show wound up spawning countless other TV series, movies, and video games.

In 2018, Legendary Entertainment and the Japanese animation studio Sunrise announced a live-action Gundam movie, with Pacific Rim: Uprising producer Cale Boyter onboard as well. Less than a year later, comics creator Brian K. Vaughan was hired to write the script, but then several months went by without any updates. That changed in early April, when Netflix announced Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts would both produce and helm the movie. Only a day later, Sunrise revealed production on the live-action Gundam film had begun, also sharing a poster for the project.

Based on these recent updates, it's clear progress is being made on the Gundam movie. Netflix is certainly eager to hype the film, mentioning it in a list of its upcoming projects with the caption "there's so much to get Geeked about."
