Zack Snyder's Justice League viewership numbers have almost doubled since its opening weekend debut on March 18th. The film had a long and arduous path to the screen. After years of non-stop campaigning, fans finally got to see the Snyder Cut in all of its glory. Given the hurdles it took for this movie to get released and the online attention it has received, many have been wondering just how well the Snyder Cut of Justice League performed on HBO Max. Warner Bros. has yet to give any clear viewership numbers, however, third-party data analytics companies have offered viewers a glimpse.

Shortly after Zack Snyder's Justice League debuted, data company Samba TV stated that 1.8 million households watched the movie over the first four days of its opening weekend. To put this in perspective, that is a much lower debut than its HBO Max peers. Wonder Woman 1984 was watched by 2.2 million households in its opening weekend, followed by Godzilla vs. Kong with 3.6 million and Mortal Kombat with 3.8 million. What's worse is that Samba TV also reported that only about a third of all viewers even finished Zack Snyder's Justice League in its first week. This sparked a debate among film enthusiasts as to if the film was actually a success or not.

Now, Samba TV has released more information on the Snyder Cut's performance which may paint the movie in a better light. According to the data analytics company, 3.7 million US households have watched Zack Snyder's Justice League in the 39 days since its release. To clarify, that is double the viewership figures of the first week, which suggests HBO Max subscribers are still seeking out and watching the movie. This is good news for anyone who might have campaigned for the film's release.

The Snyder Cut is a huge success to be a four-hour version of a movie that came out four years ago that not many people liked. This was always a niche product for a very dedicated fan base and it performed well based on that standard. However, it is important to note that although these numbers are good given the circumstances, they are still small in comparison to other huge HBO Max debuts. Zack Snyder's Justice League might have been watched by 3.7 million households in roughly five weeks, but films like Godzilla vs. Kong and Mortal Kombat either came close or beat those figures in just a few days.

This is likely why Warner Bros. is choosing not to continue the Snyderverse. Snyder's DC movies were often met with mixed reactions from audiences and performed below expectations at the box office. Although they are widely beloved by its core group of fans, Warner Bros. is most likely aiming for a wider audience with their newer slate of DC films. Will the studio ever #RestoreTheSnyderverse? Probably not, regardless, viewers can continue to watch Zack Snyder's Justice League as often as they want on HBO Max right now.
