F9's New Trailer Sums Up The Whole Fast Saga

Recommended Posts

A new Fast & Furious 9 trailer lists all the signature elements of The Fast Saga. There are a lot of things to be excited about in the upcoming installment of the film series. Han is returning after being perceived as dead and Dom is going up against his estranged brother, Jakob, who will be the main antagonist of the movie. But even without these plot points, the blockbuster is promising all the thrilling action that the franchise is known for.

Director Justin Lin returns to the car-centric franchise to helm its final three movies, beginning with F9. Like most movies, it was faced with significant delays due to the coronavirus pandemic and is now slated to release in June 2021. Considering its impressive record for delivering exciting blockbusters, the Fast & Furious franchise has a firmly established fanbase who are understandably very eager to learn what F9 is all about.

To hype up its nearing release, a new trailer for Fast & Furious 9 has been released by Universal Pictures UK summing up all the memorable moments from its predecessors in the franchise. Clocking in at a minute and 40 seconds, the clip includes a string of footage from past movies in the series, hinting that everything audiences have loved about them will also be in F9. Watch it below:

Universal is really leaning into the history of The Fast Saga coming into F9. It was recently announced that all the main Fast & Furious movies are coming back to theaters for a limited time for free leading up to the upcoming release of the new installment. It's curious if this also has something to do with the narrative of F9, considering that it's supposed to be the beginning of the franchise's culmination. It's also worth noting that there have been teases about how F9 will unexpectedly connect to the past adventures of Dom's crew. In any case, considering how cinemas were shut down for the most part of 2020, this is a great way to entice people to go back to their local theaters after a harrowing year.

Fast & Furious 9 is going farther back than the events this film, however, in order to explain what exactly went down between Dom and his brother, Jakob. Based on the trailers, the younger Toretto is hellbent on exacting revenge, and the mysterious cyber-terrorist Cipher in his ear makes him more dangerous. That said, considering The Fast Saga's core theme of family, it may not be out of the realm of possibility that Jakob is redeemed in the end and even team-up with Dom moving forward.
