Paramount Pictures has released 7 first look images from Paw Patrol: The Movie. Paw Patrol first debuted on Nickelodeon as a TV series in 2013. The popular show, follows a boy named Ryder and his rescue team of six canines. Each canine has specific skills and represents a certain emergency profession, such as a firefighter and a police officer. The TV series has been running for 8 seasons, and its feature film is scheduled for release in the U.S. on August 20, 2021.

Despite the TV series being geared towards children, the movie holds some appeal for adults as well, especially considering Paw Patrol: The Movie's all-star voice cast. Jimmy Kimmel, Tyler Perry, Kim Kardashian, Randall Park, Iain Armitage, Dax Shephard, Marsai Martin, Will Brisbin, and many more celebrities have been slated to appear in the upcoming film. However, all of the major original characters will be retaining their voice actors from the television series, with the exception of one of the main canines (Chase) who will be voiced by Young Sheldon's Iain Armitage for the movie. With its combination of well-known celebrities in special roles, along with its retention of its television roots, the movie holds appeal for both its original fans and those looking for something new.

While the trailer isn't set to release until next week, Paramount Pictures has released 7 first look images of Paw Patrol: The Movie. One of the shots shows Kim Kardashian's character, Delores the Poodle. Another image reveals Black-ish star Marsai Martin's character, Liberty the dachshund. The same shot reveals Dax Shephard and Randall Park's characters, Ruben and Butch, respectively, as two stoic-looking men in suits. Check out the images below:

Paw Patrol: The Movie will see the brave team of pups face their most notorious adversary, Mayor Humdinger. Adventure City has some danger ahead, and it'll be up to the squad once again to get things back in order. Read the official synopsis from Paramount Pictures for the upcoming movie below:

The PAW Patrol is on a roll!  When their biggest rival, Humdinger, becomes Mayor of nearby Adventure City and starts wreaking havoc, Ryder and everyone’s favorite heroic pups kick into high gear to face the challenge head on.  While one pup must face his past in Adventure City, the team finds help from a new ally, the savvy dachshund Liberty.  Together, armed with exciting new gadgets and gear, the PAW Patrol fights to save the citizens of Adventure City!

While fans are excited to see Kardashian's adorable poodle and Armitage's take on Chase in Paw Patrol: The Movie, others are intrigued by how the media will receive the movie. Although originally meant as a joke, the debate surrounding Paw Patrol shows that no franchise is immune from political interpretation. There may very well be individuals going to view the movie because they view it as a clapback at cancel culture, while others may go to show their support of police officers. In today's politically charged climate, Paw Patrol: The Movie may be loved by most for its innocence and cute characters, but others may find it as part of a deeper conversation on the impact of police officers in media.
