Hawkeye star, Jeremy Renner, shares a photo donning a hat for Black Widow, shouting out Scarlett Johansson's final Marvel Cinematic Universe outing. The first film in Phase 4 of the MCU is set between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War as the titular heroine goes on the run from the government. Though trying to stay hidden, Natasha finds herself drawn out to reconnect with her family to confront her dark past with the assassin-creating Red Room.

Johansson made her debut in the MCU in 2010's Iron Man 2 and it was followed shortly thereafter with a bigger part in The Avengers, in which Renner made his debut as Hawkeye. After getting their time in the supporting light, Johansson and Renner are getting their solo projects with the Black Widow film and Hawkeye series, with the former marking the final outing for its star while the latter will see the mantle passed on to a new character. Although, it may not be Renner's final outing. With Black Widow now out and getting positive reviews, one fellow MCU star is showing their love.

On the heels of the film's release, Renner took to Instagram to share an image on his story celebrating Black Widow. To honor its debut, the star can be see wearing a hat with the logo for the film. Check out the image below:

While it might not seem like it adds up to much in a larger sense of the franchise, those who have seen Black Widow can certainly look at Renner's photo as a knowing tease for his forthcoming series. The post-credits of the film saw Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, whose appearance was supposed to be her debut prior to Falcon and the Winter Soldier, visit Natasha's grave alongside sister Yelena and task the sibling with tracking down Clint. Given Val appears to be leaning towards a darker agenda, namely in her working with the damaged John Walker, a.k.a. U.S. Agent, she paints Clint as being responsible for Natasha's death.

Throughout its production, Renner used his social media to share teases from the set of Hawkeye numerous times, though remained true to the Marvel lock and key by only ever revealing people he was allowed to, therefore refraining from showing Florence Pugh's Yelena. With the character proving to be just as smart as her sister, she will likely be able to see through this façade in the series and assist the titular hero in taking down the as-of-yet-confirmed central antagonist. For those who have yet to be properly introduced to the character, Yelena's debut can be seen in Black Widow on Disney+ and in theaters now.
