A determined Dark Souls 2 player and YouTuber has managed to beat the game without talking to a single character. Players of the tough-as-nails title will understand just how difficult of a task that is, as it means forgoing everything from purchasing items to levelling up. Soulsborne games are infamously difficult enough as it is, so the creator has thoroughly explained just how the run can be achieved.

The Soulsborne series by Elden Ring developer FromSoftware is one of the biggest names in gaming thanks to the difficult challenges each of the games presents. Whether playing the original Demon's Souls or tackling Bloodborne's Yharnam, players will have to use all their skill and might to best what are often recognized as some of the hardest games in recent memory. Dark Souls fans have developed their own unique challenges to increase the difficulty of the games over the years, with one of the most impressive being a blindfolded player who earlier this year beat Dark Souls using a piano without taking any damage.

Spotted by PCGamesN, content creator and Dark Souls fan ymfah has shared a detailed video showing and explaining just how they managed to beat Dark Souls 2 without communicating. The YouTuber used a couple of exploits and glitches to achieve the impressive feat, all of which is shown in the video. Over on Reddit, ymfah answered further questions about the achievement, explaining that much of the seemingly mandatory dialogue in the game is skippable. When asked about skipping Aldia's dialogue in particular, the user noted that simply ignoring him still granted access to the Shrine of Winter.

The content creator's YouTube channel is packed full of other videos detailing weird and wonderful ways to tackle video games. Other challenges completed and shared by ymfah include beating The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim without walking and an explainer on Bloodborne pacifist runs. The YouTuber isn't the only Soulsborne pro able to achieve impressive feats within the games. Last year, a player beat the PS5 remake of Demon's Souls without getting hit once, making for a run almost as impressive as ymfah's. Players who want to attempt ymfah's challenge can detailed instructions and steps within the video above.

Finding new and innovative ways to beat the Soulsborne games is keeping players occupied as they wait for the launch of the next FromSoftware title, Elden Ring. Elden Ring is an upcoming RPG from game director Hidetaka Miyazaki and A Song of Ice and Fire book series author George R. R. Martin, best known for spawning the Game of Thrones series. Elden Ring impressed with its first gameplay trailer, which was released during Summer Game Fest 2021. Many of Elden Ring's bosses are reminiscent of Dark Souls', so players who are have been waiting for a return to the Soulsborne formula are understandably excited for its January 21 release.
