Digital music distribution is bigger than ever, with streaming and downloadable files making it easy to listen to favorite tracks. Even video game soundtracks have come to Spotify, letting fans revisit the classics without reaching for a CD. However, there's also a continued appreciation for vinyl records, as fans praise the medium for its quality and fidelity. Now, just in time for a major anniversary, Final Fantasy 10 is getting the vinyl record treatment.

Initially released 20 years ago, Final Fantasy 10 propelled the series to new heights and has since remained a fan-favorite of the series. While the then-new PlayStation 2's graphical capabilities helped to give the game an edge, music has also always been a major element of Final Fantasy games, and the tenth installment was no different, featuring a soundtrack composed in part by the renowned Nobuo Uematsu.

Gamers can revisit tunes like Hymn of the Fayth and Zanarkand on a new vinyl collection coming this October. The two vinyl records will include 19 tracks from the original game, and each are adorned with art of Tidus and Yuna on both sides of the records. The records are exclusively available through the Square Enix store for $54.99, and they're expected to ship on October 27. Fans should note that the release is limited, and the release date is subject to change. The full tracklist is as follows:

Disc 1/Side A

”Zanarkand”

”Tidus’ Theme”

”Otherworld”

”Battle Theme”

”Besaid”

Disc 1/Side B

”Hymn of the Fayth”

”Phantoms”

”Yuna’s Theme”

”Movement in Green”

”The Sending”

”Auron’s Theme”

”Chocobo Jam”

Disc 2/Side C

”Rikku’s Theme”

”Assault”

”Suteki da ne (Isn’t It Wonderful?)”

”A Fleeting Dream”

Disc 2/Side D

”Fight with Seymour”

”A Contest of Aeons”

”Final Battle”

Collecting vinyl records of video game soundtracks has become somewhat popular as of late. Everything from Spider-Man: Miles Morales to Earthbound have seen recent vinyl collections launch. Game soundtracks are often extremely memorable for fans who spend hours upon hours listening to them as they play through a game. As one of Nobuo Uematsu's iconic works, it's appropriate that Final Fantasy 10 is joining the list of recent vinyl releases.

Final Fantasy 10 is likely on the minds of many gamers right now, as nostalgic fans think back to its release two decades ago. While the series has been largely dormant outside of remasters and ports, the idea of Final Fantasy 10-3 being a possibility has excited the fanbase. Of course, the prospect isn't the only thing keeping fans engaged, as Final Fantasy 16 and the second part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake are both in the works. Both new and old fans of the series have plenty to look forward to in the years to come, whether or not the developer chooses to return to the world of Spira.

Final Fantasy 10 HD Remaster is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
