Fans of Assassin's Creed Valhalla might be about to get a happy surprise in the near future, with the official Twitter account for the series teasing the inclusion of one-handed swords in the next update for the game. It's not unusual for Assassin's Creed Valhalla to receive new weapons and items as part of updates, with Ubisoft already releasing a significant expansion in the form of the Wrath of the Druids DLC. The new Assassin's Creed Valhalla content has even been used to promote Ireland by Discover Ireland, the Irish tourism board.

Since its release in November of last year, Assassin's Creed Valhalla has added numerous weapons to the game though these updates, but one that has been notably absent is the one-handed sword. This is despite the fact that such weapons are common throughout the game, and used by a variety of Assassin's Creed NPCs. Fans have already been aware that these types of sword would be coming to Assassin's Creed Valhalla at some point, with post-launch content producer José Araiza confirming the studio was planning on introducing the feature in the future.

One-handed swords have been one of the most requested features in Assassin's Creed Valhalla ever since the game was first released, and it appears as if Ubisoft might be about to satisfy those wishes. Posting on the official Assassin's Creed Twitter account, a spokesperson teased the fact that the weapons might be added as part of the next title update saying, "what if we added a 1H sword with our next Title Update?" The fact that the account has come out and asked the question publicly suggests that Ubisoft already has plans to include the new class of weapon, much to the delight of fans that have been asking for it.

While there is little official word about what the latest update will bring to Assassin's Creed Valhalla, a leak suggests that the upcoming DLC will include an aged Eivor. Images posted online from a concept artist who has worked on the game showed the older female character, prompting rumors that Assassin's Creed next DLC update will take place in the future with a more experienced protagonist.

The fact that one-handed swords were not included in Assassin's Creed Valhalla has always been odd. The weapon has been a staple of the series since the very beginning and other characters within the title are shown using them. But it is good to see that the studio is willing to listen to fans and make changes that will benefit everyone, especially when it feels like such a small addition to so many people.
