As Halo Infinite’s late 2021 release draws closer, developer 343 Industries is encouraging players to get registered for Halo Infinite's upcoming multiplayer preview sessions. It has been a long road for the latest installment of Microsoft’s flagship FPS series, which has seen several delays and upheavals since it was announced for the Xbox Series X/S back in 2018.

As is the case with every new Halo game, a lot of players will be spending most of their time in Halo Infinite’s multiplayer, which has been fine-tuned following fan backlash at its initial showing last July. Presumably, most (if not all) of the usual Halo multiplayer modes, will be present and accounted for, alongside Jeff Steitzer's iconic announcer voice and mode-specific weapon drops inspired by memorable campaign moments throughout theseries. Halo Infinite’s multiplayer will be free-to-play and released in seasons, with the first being titled Heroes of Reach.

343 is gearing up for a Halo Infinite multiplayer preview to be conducted at a yet-unrevealed time, and the developer is inviting players to sign up for the Halo Insider program (via GameSpot). Community director Brian Jarrard recently revealed on Twitter that “a LOT (six figures worth) of people who ‘signed up’ but didn't complete all the required steps,” and expressed regret that “they'll miss the opportunity” of testing out the new Halo Infinite multiplayer. So far, there’s no word on when this multiplayer preview will launch or what content will be included, but 343 has assured fans that the start-up date is nearing.

While originally planned to launch last year alongside the Xbox Series X/S, but (as previously noted) Halo Infinite was delayed to address fan concerns about its graphics and gameplay. Since then, 343 Industries has been hard at work correcting the various issues players had, greatly improving the game's visuals by ensuring that ray tracing will be enabled on Xbox Series X/S at launch (among other graphical tweaks) and adding extra transparency to its free-to-play multiplayer approach.

Playtesting is a developer’s way of getting players involved in the creation process and collecting feedback ahead of a major release, so it’s natural for 343 Industries to want as many people to sign up for Halo Infinite’s multiplayer previews - especially given how multiplayer is the lifeblood of the Halo community to begin with. With sign-ups already underway, it probably won’t be long before fans get to jump into the battlefield for some Halo Infinite action ahead of its full release later this year.
