WandaVision star Teyonah Parris shares a video of her training to get into superhero shape for the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel, The Marvels. The 31st film in the interconnected comic book franchise will act as a follow-up to 2019's Captain Marvel and the events of Disney+'s WandaVision and Ms. Marvel. Parris made her franchise debut in the former series as Monica Rambeau, the daughter of Carol Danvers' friend and fellow airman Maria Rambeau, who gained the ability to absorb energy after her time in The Hex.

Kamala Khan's Disney+ series Ms. Marvel will introduce audiences to the character before her appearance in The Marvels. Megan McDonnell started writing the movie's script (then called Captain Marvel 2) less than a year after the first film's release. Once Brie Larson was confirmed to return shortly after, Disney set it for a July 2022 release and landed Candyman co-writer/director Nia DaCosta to helm. With a cast now assembled, production is getting underway overseas, and the stars are showing their efforts to get in the best shape for the sequel.

On the heels of teasing her arrival in London, Parris took to Instagram to share a video of her intensive training. Though she doesn't outright state it's for The Marvels, the actress's confirmed return for the MCU sequel and its filming location near the United Kingdom capital points to her getting in superhero shape like her co-star Larson.

Larson has become an internet sensation during the pandemic with her increased YouTube and social media presence, much dedicated to her training for The Marvels. Seeing Parris get in on the training video sharing proves to be a pretty exciting tease of what fans can expect from the MCU sequel. Monica's arrival in WandaVision was something of an emotional roller coaster. Between her having been a victim of The Blip to coming back years after her mother's death and acquiring energy-absorbing powers from The Hex will hopefully translate into her getting in on some exciting action in the film.

Even more intriguing with Monica's re-introduction in WandaVision was the character's apparent distaste for Larson's hero, which was never fully explored nor resolved in the Disney+ series. Putting her back in the back of Danvers in The Marvels will be as interesting from an emotional standpoint as it is from a super-powered one. Though the wait for the sequel's arrival may seem unbearable, fans can at least look forward to the premiere of Ms. Marvel later this year.
