New images from this fall's Halloween Kills reveal Michael Myers going after a returning player from the previous installment. The Halloween franchise has taken many twists and turns over the years, but it finally returned to form with the arrival of the 2018 installment that brought back Jamie Lee Curtis as scream queen Laurie Strode. Skipping past all the other sequels and reboots, the 2018 Halloween saw a PTSD-riddled Laurie gearing up for Michael's inevitable return to Haddonfield. Even before the credits rolled, though, fans knew it wouldn't be the end, as there are two more sequels planned.

The first, Halloween Kills, will finally arrive this October after being delayed from last year. Once again directed by David Gordon Green, the new installment will pick up not long after the 2018 Halloween as Michael narrowly avoids burning to death in Laurie's home and embarks on yet another murder spree. Those involved with Halloween Kills have promised a brutal and bloody sequel, something backed up by the intense trailer that was released just a month ago. Said trailer also revealed something thrilling: Michael Myers will be unmasked.

Now that Halloween Kills is (hopefully) just a few months away, Total Film (via GamesRadar) has unveiled some new images from the movie. In addition to showing Michael viciously taking out a firefighter and Laurie sitting with her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) in the aftermath of the fire, the Halloween Kills pictures show Michael setting his sights on Cameron (Dylan Arnold), Allyson's boyfriend from the previous movie. Based on Michael's grip on his neck, it looks like Cameron won't be making it out of this one alive.

Halloween Kills is said to have a massive body count, and it's only fitting that it will include characters fans are already familiar with. As Halloween Ends is planned for next year, it seems unlikely that someone major like Laurie will perish in this installment. However, it isn't entirely outside the realm of possibility, and fans should be cautious No one is safe when Michael Myers is around.

The 2018 Halloween supplied plenty of thrills and twists for audiences, and hopefully its sequel will be much of the same. Halloween Kills is continuing the trend of going back to the basics and will feature returning characters like Lindsey Wallace (Kyle Richards) and Tommy Doyle (now played by Anthony Michael Hall). By focusing on familiar faces like those two, the Strode women, and even poor Cameron, the movie can raise the stakes for each character's fate. Only time will tell which lucky souls make it out of Halloween Kills alive.
