There are a few Legend of Zelda rumors currently circulating that revolve around some potential remasters that might be coming to the Nintendo Switch, including the paired handheld titles Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. 2021 marks the 35th-anniversary for the franchise, but as of now Nintendo has only officially announced the already available Switch remaster of 2011's Skyward Sword.

Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages originally launched for the Game Boy Color back in 2001 and had a re-release in 2013 on the 3DS via the Virtual Console. The games are heavily linked as players cannot experience the full narrative without completing both of them. Seasons and Ages were both well received at the time and that could indicate why these latest rumors have some clout.

Twitter user markomaro shared the rumors on Twitter (via Comicbook.com) and they cover more remakes than just those for the two handheld installments. Markomaro repeated their Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages rumor from a year ago by saying those remakes would drop sometime between 2022 and 2023. They also claim that completed Switch remasters of Zelda games Wind Waker and Twilight Princess will likely come soon even though no date has been announced. No information currently exists regarding remakes for Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

Nintendo has already experimented with remaking a handheld Zelda title for the Switch in the form of 2019's Link's Awakening. The update was well received and seems to have proven to the developer that there is a market for these types of remasters. Still, the only confirmed upcoming Zelda releases are a sequel to Breath of the Wild in 2022 and the Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda coming out later this year. The latter consists of The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, and Link's Awakening all in their original formats.

If markomaro's rumors are correct, then Zelda fans could see a lot of content in the coming years. The disappointing side of getting all these potential remakes, however, is that Nintendo seems more focused on polishing the old instead of creating the new. That said, much of the franchise would benefit from modern updates and it would give new fans a chance to play some still relevant classics. Whatever happens, going forward, Nintendo certainly seems to have a plan for The Legend of Zelda and it's only a matter of time before those plans are made public.
