While playing Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, one dedicated gamer managed to set a new world record by almost hitting round 700 on Mauer Der Toten. The map is the newest addition to the Zombies mode, which was updated with brand new content after Season 4 Reloaded launched in the game.

The Mauer Der Toten map dropped in Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode earlier in July after being confirmed in a dedicated trailer. The video unveiled the major premise of the new survival level, which was set in zombie-infested Berlin. Serving as a sort of an homage to the original mode from Call of Duty: World at War, Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode has brought back a handful of enemies’ visual designs based on Nazis uniforms.

As reported by Dexerto, player InsomniaVirus managed to set a new record in slaying endless waves of living dead in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode by successfully reaching round 669. The gamer livestreamed the crazy process on YouTube, showing incredible determination and commitment while fending off numerous zombies on the newest map Mauer Der Toten. Judging by the video, the player took full advantage of many new toys and weapons Treyarch added to the Zombies mode. But what makes InsomniaVirus’ achievement an even more impressive one is the fact that the previous record on that same map capped at round 474. Interestingly, the player is not planning to stop at the current milestone. The final goal is to reach round 935, which is a destination worth aiming at.

Although Black Ops Cold War fans are currently enjoying the newest Mauer Der Toten map, it’s been recently reported that zombie-infested Berlin has an annoying glitch. According to players, some parts and textures on the map can disappear for no reason, causing chaos and frustration. Certain areas become completely invisible, resulting in players walking on thin air instead of a solid floor. The glitch can be experienced by anyone as it is yet to be patched.

If InsomniaVirus does manage to hit the final goal of round 935 in Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode, it’d be a masterful achievement well worth official recognition by developers. But even if the player gets overrun by undead before hitting the desired milestone, the current record is already great enough to be proud of. Hopefully, InsomniaVirus won’t lose their impressive score during live gameplay because of cut power or lost Internet connection, which would’ve been tragic and unfair.
