Dodgeball comes to the movies as EA reveals season 2 of Knockout City, which will add new maps and skins. After a well-received crossplay beta period, Knockout City recently became somewhat of a multiplayer hit at launch, seeing 2 million players in just three days. Players can currently try out the game for free until level 25 before having to pay for the full game.

During EA Play Live 2021 livestream, Velan Studios showcased the upcoming season 2 of Knockout City, titled "Fight at the Movies." Season 2 introduces a new map, ball, and movie-themed skins, along with more content to unlock throughout the season. The new map, called the Holowood Drive-in will change during the course of a match, shifting into scenes from different genres of movies. How many shifts and what genres are currently unknown, but the reveal trailer shows a large fantasy-style castle, gothic spires, and a pink, flowery bed to brawl on. Accompanying the map is the new Soda Ball. Covering a rival’s screen in pop like a Blooper in Mario Kart, players can splash rivals in a large explosion of fizzy soda.

In addition to the new content, League Play is getting an update with new rewards for season 2. New playlists are coming, too, including a game mode in which everyone in the match is a ball. Cosmetic items based on the movies will be available to earn in season 2, as well. One of those is a new limousine-style crew vehicle to spend hard-earned style chips on. Other items will be unlocked when completing new Crew Contracts. Knockout City season 2 launches on July 27 for all platforms.
