In a display of ongoing interest in and support of the popular Animal Crossing: New Horizons game, a player recently shared images of some adorable (and frightening) custom in-game murals. The unique and impressive pieces of art are on display just outside of the player's airport, waiting to welcome new visitors. These artistic creations are another in a long line of cool Animal Crossing player-made art pieces.

The open-ended nature of Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows for novel creative expression through its mechanics, leading to plenty of inspired creations that have been shared online. Many Animal Crossing players enjoy sharing their creations with others in the community. Amongst the game's popular features is the ability to travel to other islands and via the airport system, which this player has leveraged to craft some statement-making pieces of art.

Earlier today, a Reddit user going by the handle Boomstick80 shared some of these impressive and detailed murals with the world. While not as complex as other recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons creations, the pieces feature some impressively varied designs and styles. Some are Banksy-inspired, boasting charming stencil art of beloved Nintendo characters. Others are saccharine and cutesy, topped with painted butterflies and adorable pop art. Interestingly, a good percentage of the murals look to have a horror theme, complete with simplistic blood and gore. One of the images even features a rendition of Pennywise with a cleverly integrated balloon asset that gives the mural a 3D appearance.

The uniquely detailed creations were achieved by customizing individual tiles that come together to build a complete image. This process certainly seems painstaking, and Boomstick80 clearly brought some artistic chops to the table when crafting these pieces. Aside from that, it looks like some of the accents in the murals came courtesy of the Animal Crossing crossover event with Super Mario, as inclusions like the menacing Thowmps are too perfect to recreate from scratch.

Boomstick80 has solidified themself as a uniquely talented artist within the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community thanks to these fun murals. The cute and creepy flavor present in many of these pieces is sure to grab the attention of anyone who loves the game, and their level of detail will impress even those uninterested in the franchise. The murals are undeniably fun, and anyone interested in either art or Animal Crossing owes it to themselves to check them out.
