Genshin Impact's Official Discord Is So Popular It's Opening a Second One

The official Discord server for miHoYo's Genshin Impact reached full capacity a while ago; fortunately, a second server has gone live for others to join. Understandably, Discord has certain limitations in place. Single servers can only hold so many members, for example, and no server can boast more than 500 channels at max. Some topics of discussion evidently need a little breathing room, though.

And it's no surprise that Genshin Impact counts as one such example. The free-to-play action RPG launched less than a year ago, yet quickly managed to take the world by storm. Millions of players remain devoted to the beautiful world of Teyvat, which developer miHoYo continues to expand with regular updates of both the major and minor variety. In fact, the most recent update - Version 2.0 - went live on July 21, unlocking the Inazuma region, a few new characters, and a host of extra activities and events. With Genshin Impact Version 2.1's September release fast approaching, miHoYo is taking the necessary steps to ensure fans can easily convene outside the game.

Genshin Impact's Discord server reportedly hit max capacity at 700,000 members; since more slots were added, the server is currently closing in on 800,000 users. Thus, the official Genshin Impact Discord became so popular that it needed a second server to meet the steadily growing demand. And said server has been granted. The new Discord for Genshin Impact, known as Genshin Impact Tavern, is now live as revealed by the title's Twitter account. More than 53,000 members have already joined the fresh server as of writing, which suggests this, too, may fill up in the coming months.

Clearly, official Discord servers count among the best places to discuss all things Genshin Impact-related. Fans wanting to take part in the conversation may want to join the new Genshin Impact Tavern space before it's too late. Again, with 53,000-plus users signing on in a matter of hours, there's no telling how quickly the second server will reach full capacity.

Developer miHoYo rolled out Genshin Impact on Steam, PS4, and mobile devices in September 2020; the free-to-play title later migrated to PlayStation 5 and the Epic Games Store. Now fans patiently await news on release details for the much-coveted Nintendo Switch version.
