Actor Bella Thorne said that she owns a life-sized version of the terrifying character from The Babadook. Thorne has previously starred in movies including The DUFF, Midnight Sun, and Blended. However, she originally got her start in the spotlight with the role of CeCe Jones on Disney Channel's Shake It Up. She's also no stranger to horror, as she also played Nina Patterson in Scream: The TV Series. Thorne diversified her career by working in music and directing the adult film Her & Him.

In 2014, writer/director Jennifer Kent released The Babadook. The film started by making waves at the Sundance Film Festival, which quickly generated hype outside the festival circuit. The plot follows Amelia (Essie Davis), a single mother raising her son Samuel (Noah Wiseman). They become haunted by a creepy children's book called Mister Babadook.

In an interview with The Boo Crew Podcast (via Bloody Disgusting), Thorne talked about her love for the horror genre. She expressed all of the emotions that horror generates within its audience and how she grew up being a massive fan of these films. Thorne noted that she loves The Babadook so much that she has a life-sized figure in her home, which she used to keep in her bathroom. The model scared people that would go to use her bathroom. See below for her full comment:

“I love The Babadook – I actually have a life-sized Babadook in my house. For a long time we had it in the bathroom and it was behind the door so that whenever anybody would open the door it would hit the Babadook, so then it would look like it was moving and shaking. Everyone was so terrorized by that Babadook in the bathroom.”

Aside from being one of the best critically received films of the year, The Babadook has become a part of pop culture in other ways. After the meme went viral, the film being categorized by Netflix as an LGBT film, the movie was once again brought into the mainstream. Additionally, some moviegoers discussed the subtext in the film related to LGBT culture in a way that Kent herself enjoyed. An LGBT Pride Edition of The Babadook was even released on Blu-ray that had a rainbow background. Thorne isn't the only one who has wanted to keep the character alive, despite Kent saying that she wouldn't be interested in returning for a sequel.

Thorne's story about a life-sized Babadook model in her bathroom that scared people is hilarious. While she didn't say where the Babadook is placed in her house now, she did express that she still has it. If one is going to have a life-sized horror character in their home, the Babadook is an iconic choice. While we don't know what the model she has is made out of, it would be cool to see how detailed it is. The Babadook is a very well-made film that only continues to come up in pop culture.
