Mark Hamill reveals he had to be photoshopped into an iconic Star Wars cast reunion photo. Hamill is best known for his portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the original and current Star Wars film trilogies. Although Hamill himself technically didn't appear in the prequel trilogy, baby Luke Skywalker made his debut in 2005's Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. In real-life, Hamill has become a noted presence on social media, frequently answering questions from Star Wars fans and revealing behind-the-scenes Star Wars facts with his trademark sense of humor.

Another notable Star Wars debut in 2005 was a Vanity Fair cover that featured cast members and characters from both the original and prequel trilogies. The iconic photo was shot by famous photographer, Annie Leibovitz. The reunion photo has the prequel stars, including Hayden Christensen, Ewan McGregor, and Natalie Portman pictured on the left. Hamill is pictured on the right with his fellow original trilogy stars, Harrison Ford, the late Carrie Fisher (who was awarded a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this year), and Billy Dee Williams. Even Star Wars creator George Lucas is included, along with Yoda and other iconic Star Wars characters like Chewbacca.

Hamill posted the 2005 cast reunion photo on his Twitter page this week with yet another behind-the-scenes tidbit sure to amuse Star Wars fans. As Hamill reveals below, his spot in the photo wasn't exactly as it seemed. Check out Hamill's post revealing he was photoshopped in the group picture below:

What's refreshing about Hamill's online presence is that he never hesitates to poke fun at himself or his portrayal of Luke Skywalker. Of course, it's a shame that Hamill couldn't make it for the group photo, but the fact that he was photoshopped in is genuinely hilarious. Regardless of the the funny photo backstory, it's definitely important that Hamill was included in the photo.

There are so many aspects of the Star Wars universe that make it a beloved franchise decades after Star Wars: A New Hope premiered. One of those aspects was Hamill's earnest and genuine portrayal of Luke. It's difficult to imagine any other actor convincingly playing a young Jedi who never stopped believing that the most feared Sith Lord in the galaxy still had good in him. Hamill's Star Wars legacy is unparalleled, and it's no surprise that his surprise cameo as Luke in The Mandalorian season 2 finale sparked an intense emotional reaction from Star Wars fans.

Hamill's contributions to Star Wars both as Luke and on his social media pages are simply beyond compare. All jokes and witty hashtags aside, it is evident that Hamill has a great love and appreciation for Star Wars and the fandom. While his future as Luke is uncertain at the moment, hopefully Hamill will keep up his hilarious Star Wars-themed social media posts in the interim. If there's anything the galaxy needs at the moment, it's a bit of laughter.
