New Shang-Chi Poster Teases Mandarin Fight & Ten Rings Power

A new poster for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings teases the fight with Mandarin and the Ten Rings' powers. Now that Black Widow has been released in theaters and on Disney+, Marvel Studios is ramping up the marketing for the next Phase 4 movie. Shang-Chi will introduce Simu Liu as the Master of Kung Fu and be the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with an Asian lead superhero. It will also be where the real Mandarin makes his appearance after Iron Man 3's fakeout and feature the return of the Ten Rings organization he leads.

The marketing campaign for Shang-Chi has leaned heavily into the martial arts superhero action and the presence of the Mandarin. Legendary actor Tony Leung will play the famous Marvel villain, who is also Shang-Chi's father for the purposes of the MCU. He is powered by ten rings that Marvel Studios redesigned as armbands. The fights between Shang-Chi and Mandarin have been teased in previous Shang-Chi trailers, with the Ten Rings' powers repeatedly on display. Now, both aspects of the highly-anticipated Phase 4 blockbuster are featured in a new poster.

Marvel Studios is only about a month away from releasing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings exclusively in theaters for a 45-day window. With the release date rapidly approaching, Marvel finally shared a new poster for the movie. It prominently features Simu Liu and Tony Leung as Shang-Chi and Mandarin, as their faces are front and center and a fight between them teased below. This fight also teases more of the Ten Rings' powers being used.

The new Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings poster follows Marvel Studios' usual habits of including several other details about the movie. Supporting cast members Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Florian Munteanu, and Meng'er Zhang are all featured, as well as a glimpse of Abomination (Tim Roth) at the bottom left. But, the poster also includes the Golden Gate bridge to tease its partial San Francisco setting, a car chase through the mountains, and a seemingly random piece of ninja panda graffiti.

As far as Marvel posters go, the busyness of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' new poster is pretty standard. Fans will likely prefer the original teaser poster for the movie over this latest one. Of course, this won't be the last Shang-Chi poster to surface online. Marvel usually releases individual ones for each main character, while different theater chains typically commission some more stylish posters. And even if this poster is a bit of a mixed bag, interest in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings should continue to grow as more footage is released.
