Ben Affleck will reportedly head to the set of The Flash in September to begin filming scenes for the upcoming DCEU movie. Ezra Miller is reprising his role as Barry Allen from Batman v Superman and Justice League and the film itself will see the return of several major characters. In addition to Affleck, Michael Keaton will be returning as his version of Bruce Wayne from the 1989 Tim Burton film, although whether or not he's donning the cowl remains unclear. Kiersey Clemons will also appear as Iris West after her brief role in Zack Snyder's Justice League as Barry Allen's love interest.

Sasha Calle will make her DCEU debut as Supergirl in The Flash, setting the film up for a different kind of superhero team-up. The film is set to adapt the time traveling comics arc Flashpoint that sees Barry Allen go back in time and disrupt the future. Rumors point to the film setting up the DCEU's own version of the multiverse, which would explain Supergirl and Keaton's appearances. Details about Affleck's role in the film are unknown, but it's widely thought to be his last appearance in the DCEU.

Now, Affleck is set to finally be making his appearance on set in September. The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez tweeted that the actor will make his way to the European set of the film in September. No other details were given about his appearance in the film.

The Flash set has been mired in drama over the last few weeks thanks, in part, to Affleck's Batman. Although the actor hasn't been on set, as confirmed by his appearances with Jennifer Lopez elsewhere, the actor's stunt double has been filming scenes on the Batcycle. The Batcycle was involved in two crashes on The Flash's set. Luckily, no one was injured, but it certainly seems like the vehicle may be more trouble than it's worth.

As for whether or not Affleck will be more capable of handling the Batcyle, that remains to be seen. Still, his appearance on the set and return to the DCEU is exciting. As it may be his final performance as Bruce Wayne, there's no telling what's in store for his character. Affleck will surely go out with a bang and fans will be reticent to say goodbye to the actor - despite the fact that his initial casting was meant with a myriad of responses, his performances were ultimately beloved by many. One more round in The Flash will hopefully be enough to give audiences everything they want and more from Affleck's iteration of the character.
