I'm using Keepass 2 password manager with backups to my NAS. I also store most passwords in the browser though too.

i pretty much use the same one of 3 for all sites so i dont forget but since ive signed up for nord and it comes with pass manager i may give it a try

I think I just end up writing them down and then whenever I need to reference them (if I don't remember), I go back to see.

Isn't saving it in the browser just using the browser as a password manager?

If saved in browser, it works fast during filling the forms because service is inbuilt in browser, but you should always have offline backup of the browser appdata folder, which of course only firefox support offline backup and no chrome based browser support offline backup.

I save it in the browser because I'm lazy, but I do use a password manager for important stuff.
