A brand-new gameplay trailer for Forza Horizon 5 has been revealed at Gamescom 2021. The upcoming racing title, developed by Playground Games, will bring open-world racing onto modern current-gen Xbox hardware. Revealed back at E3 2021, Forza Horizon 5 strives to surpass 2018's acclaimed Forza Horizon 4.

The announcement of Forza Horizon 5 back at E3 2021 revealed a number of exciting new additions coming to the realistic racing franchise. The game will reportedly feature a new Horizon Arcade mode, which includes a number of unique mini-game objectives such as driving into piñatas as they fall from a plane. A new EventLab mode is also being introduced, allowing players to customize their races with new rules or limitations. Forza Horizon 5's massive map of Mexico will also bring a new level of photorealism to the game, with breathtaking mechanics such as realistic weather patterns and a huge range of different climates.

A new Initial Drive Trailer for Forza Horizon 5 has been released by Xbox via YouTube. The eight-minute long gameplay demo shows off the game's photorealistic vehicles, including a Mercedes-AMG ONE and a 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands, as well as various parts of the open-world Forza Horizon 5 Mexico map. The impressive demonstration starts off as a Ford Bronco drops out of a plane and parachutes to the ground where it immediately begins racing around an active snow-capped volcano. From there the gameplay video takes players across Mexico, through sandstorms and jungles, at breakneck speeds.

A recent preview of Forza Horizon 5 sheds additional light on the game's beautiful rendition of Mexico, which is described as the most diverse and gorgeous location in the series. The upcoming installment also boasts the largest selection of vehicles that the franchise has ever seen, giving plenty of variety as players embark on their cross-country journeys. Along with accurate recreations of Mexico's diverse biomes, such as snowy mountains and flooded jungles, developer Playground Games has also remained faithful to the country's culture. Various Mexican artists, writers, and actors have helped the studio bring the lovely country to life accurately and effectively. A new ray-traced audio system will make Forza Horizon 5 even more realistic, as the sound of your car's engine or horn will naturally bounce off of the environment in different ways.

By all accounts, Forza Horizon 5 will be the biggest and best installment in the racing game series yet. The roads of Mexico have been recreated in gorgeous detail, and new game modes will add variety to the typical racing experience. With photorealistic cars and intense courses to navigate, Forza Horizon 5 is sure to satisfy both speed freaks and digital sightseers.
