Battlefield 2042's launch is quickly approaching and its impressive visuals are forcing PC gamers to reevaluate their current rigs. At least, that's what Electronic Arts and Western Digital are hoping. The two companies have announced that they're partnering to offer a unique branded SSD bundle featuring Battlefield 2042. The WD_Black SN750 SE NVMe SSD Battlefield 2042 PC Game Code Bundle packages a PC pre-order for Battlefield 2042 with a Western Digital SSD.

Two different sizes of the WD_Black SN750 SE NVMe SSDs are featured in the Battlefield 2042 promotion. There's are 500GB and 1TB options available. Each will feature unique Battlefield 2042 branding on the SSD itself and will be bundled with a digital code for the PC version of Battlefield 2042's standard edition. Pre-order codes are also available through this promotion, for those worried they could miss out on Battlefield 2042 open beta early access or other rewards.

The pitch from Western Digital is that PC gamers can upgrade to an internal SSD that will improve the performance of Battlefield 2042, specifically mentioning loading times like when starting new levels. The SSD in question offers up sequential read speeds of 3,600MB/s and sequential write speeds of either 2,000MB/s or 2,830MB/s depending on if it's Western Digital's 500GB or 1TB model. Random read is at 360K IOPS and 525K IOPS, with random write at 480K IOPS or 640K IOPS, respectively.

Pricing for the two SSDs stands at $114.99 for the 500GB model and $179.99 for the 1TB model. However, if purchasing through the Western Digital storefront, both SSDs are currently discounted, so they're $94.99 and $139.99, respectively. For comparison's sake, the non-bundled versions of the exact same SSD currently retail from Western Digital's website for $74.99 and $129.99. In other words, taking into consideration Battlefield 2042's $59.99 pricing for a standard edition on PC, it's a rather substantial discount.

For gamers who may be considering taking the PC code for Battlefield 2042 and then using the SSD for PS5, note that these cards' speeds do not meet Sony's minimum requirements. The WD_Black SN750 SE NVMe is an affordable option for PC gamers upgrading from a mechanical hard drive, but this SSD in particular is not necessarily cutting edge. It does offer a great price, however.

It's unclear how limited Electronic Arts and Western Digital promotion for the WD_Black SN750 SE NVMe SSD Battlefield 2042 PC Game Code Bundle will be. It could last through launch or it could end relatively quickly. For those who were planning to buy Battlefield 2042 anyway, it seems like a great opportunity to potentially get a 500GB or 1TB SSD in the
