A new Batmobile LEGO set featuring the famed vehicle from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy is now available for pre-order. This version of the Batmobile first appeared in director Christopher Nolan's reboot of the Batman franchise, Batman Begins, in 2005. The aptly named "Tumbler" was again featured in 2008's The Dark Knight and then again in 2012's The Dark Knight Rises.

The design of the Tumbler is a stark contrast of Batmobiles of the past, as the standard set by the comics and the 1960s TV series had a tremendous influence on the future designs. Tim Burton's 1989 version was a sleeker Batmobile (which will return in next year's The Flash), which was also made into an upscale LEGO set. It wasn't until Christopher Nolan's trilogy that the Batmobile design took on such a vastly different look, albeit one that still made an impact and was instantly recognizable.

Now, LEGO has made the new edition of The Dark Knight's Batmobile that's available for pre-order and will ship on November 1st. The set consists of 2049 pieces, as well as minifigures of Batman and The Joker in their likenesses from the film. This set is part of LEGO's "adult" line, which features more intricately detailed and difficult builds that are meant more for display than play. LEGO's Batman line has continued to grow over the years, with everything from Batcave play sets to reconstructions of Tim Burton's Batwing and even a Batman cowl and head display. Check out the images below to get a better look at this new set:

The Batmobile has taken on many forms in many different types of media, so the possibilities of exploring the concept via LEGO are endless. There are currently a number of different versions available outside of the adult sets, which are built more for play than for collecting. However, collectors still have much to choose from. Given LEGO's penchant for making these intricate adult-themed sets, it's likely more will be seen from the line, including something from Matt Reeves' version of the famed vehicle in next year's The Batman.

For collectors, sets like this can be pricey, but the detail and collectible value are unmatched. LEGO has continued to tap into the adult LEGO market, making sets that still have that child-like appeal, but also provide a more complex build that adults and kids alike can enjoy. From Marvel Cinematic Universe to Harry Potter, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Stranger Things, Star Wars, Nintendo, sports cars, and architecture, the adult line offers something for everyone, be it movies or otherwise. This new Batmobile from The Dark Knight is a prime example of the quality LEGO has put into it and is sure to add to anyone's Batman collection.
