Toy Story TikTok Reacts To Disney Toys Changing The Name On Woody's Boot

A Toy Story-themed TikTok serves up a very relatable reaction to Disney merch changing the name on the underside of Woody's boot. Pixar has churned out countless acclaimed movies over the years, but the Toy Story series remains a high water mark for the studio. The saga of toys who come to life whenever their owners are out of the room has delighted and crushed audiences in equal measure ever since the first Toy Story arrived in 1995. Armed with the voice talents of those like Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, Toy Story is a pivotal part of Disney/Pixar history.

When Toy Story 3 rolled around in 2010, many expected that to be the end. After all, Toy Story 3 perfectly concluded Woody and Buzz's story, and it rode a wave of critical adulation all the way to a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars. And yet, there was a bit more gas left in the tank, as Toy Story 4 was released in 2019 with the intention of truly and definitively closing out the franchise. While perhaps not quite as beloved as its predecessor, Toy Story 4 still managed to be a winner in the eyes of many.

As Toy Story is still such a major part of the Disney family, fans can purchase as much merchandise as their wallets can stand. However, those who have grown up with Woody might be surprised to learn Disney has made a change to his toy. TikTok user Sabrina Fajardo posted a video addressing the fact that Woody's boot no longer reads Andy at Disneyland. "You know you're old when the Toy Story toys at Disneyland say 'Bonnie' and not 'Andy'," the TikTok says, which is sure to inspire a shudder in some fans.

For much of the Toy Story series, Woody and the rest are the loyal playthings of Andy. However, as Toy Story 3 documents to devastating effect, Andy grows up and has no need for his old toys. He then passes all of them along to Bonnie, a kindhearted young girl who happily integrates them into her playtime rotation. Yes, Woody might have Bonnie's name on his boot in the movies, but it's still jarring to actually see it on his real life toys.

The main Toy Story franchise is at an end, but the property is still alive and well over at Disney. In addition to the various shorts and series that have sprung up over the years, Pixar will release Lightyear next year. Starring Chris Evans as a human Buzz Lightyear, the movie will focus on the person who inspired the toy. It's not quite what fans expected, but there's a lot of interest in seeing how it will come together. As the wait continues for Lightyear, one can always revisit Toy Story for some happy nostalgia.
