Howard University has honored alumnus Chadwick Boseman by renaming their College of Fine Arts after him. Boseman rose to prominence following his role as King T'Challa in MCU's Black Panther. He portrayed the hero for a total of four films and gave his final voice performance as T'Challa in Marvel's What If...? series. Prior to the worldwide recognition he gained for his role as Black Panther, Boseman first gained attention for his historical portrayals in films such as 42, Get On Up, and Marshall. His final film was Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, for which he received an Academy Award nomination. Sadly, Boseman passed on August 28th, 2020, after a long battle with colon cancer. As the one year anniversary of his death passed, many are finding ways to continue honoring his legacy.

As reported by ComingSoon, Boseman's alma mater, Howard University, honored the late actor by renaming their College of Fine Arts after him. Boseman graduated from Howard University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in directing. Nearly a week after the first year anniversary of his passing, Howard University officially changed their Fine Arts College name to Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts. Boseman had worked hard to preserve the College of Fine Arts at Howard University, and they saw it fitting to honor him and preserve his legacy for the next generation. Howard University released a time lapse of the installment of the College's new name, which can be seen below:

Howard University's new College of Fine Arts name is a well-deserved honor to remember the legacy and contributions of Boseman. Boseman wasn't just remembered for being a talented and passionate actor, but also for being a compassionate and selfless individual. As he quietly fought his own battle with cancer, he spent much of his time donating to cancer charities and supporting others battling the disease. Howard University is one of many organizations and individuals who have found different ways to honor Boseman. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was even reimagined to honor and memorialize Boseman. These honors ensure that his work, legacy, and passion will continue to live on and inspire many generations after him.
