Apex Legends is full of advanced movement mechanics and interesting abilities for players to learn. These aspects of Respawn’s shooter make the skill ceiling for the game incredibly high. Players post new clips each day of insane highlights, like a Pathfinder player grappling an enemy out of midair. However, many fans wish that there was an easier way to practice the skills needed to become an Apex Predator in the Battle Royale.

Recently, one fan on Reddit known as 69littleduck69 came up with an idea for how players could improve in Apex Legends. Besides Arenas and Battle Royale modes, the game includes a Firing Range for players to practice. While the practice area does allow players to get acclimated with the weapons and attachments in the game, the mode fails to provide many gamers with the challenge necessary to improve. Using footage from Youtuber Monkey Sniper, 69littleduck69 showed how the area could be used to practice other skills besides shooting.

Looking to add new ways to practice in the mode, the video showcased what a new area included in the Firing Range could possibly look like. Focused on movement, this new area complete with walls and doors would allow players to practice complex movements in small areas. This is a valuable skill to master as fights in Apex Legends often take place in close quarters.

These movement-based modifications would be an interesting change to the mostly bare-bones Firing Range. Some of the other features of this rework for the practice area included faster targets, unlimited ammo, and no cooldown on Legend abilities. The video showed off aim games similar to those found in popular aim trainers such as Aim Lab as well. The games in the video focused both on flicking accuracy along with tracking fast moving targets. The addition of these drills would possibly mean that players looking to improve their aim would no longer need to go to third-party applications.

This new idea for the Firing Range comes as Respawn announced the removal of Tap-Strafing from the game. A popular movement mechanic for those playing on mouse and keyboard, it allowed players to improve their movement in skirmishes by turning 180 degrees without slowing down. However, the developers decided to remove the mechanic due to its inaccessibility and lack of readability.

With the launch of Season 10 of Apex Legends last month, the game has seen an increase in popularity. With over 3,200 upvotes, many gamers on Reddit seem to like these proposed changes to the practice area. It will be interesting to see if the developers decide to implement any of these features to the Firing Range in the coming days.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
