Netflix has released the official trailer for their upcoming slasher film, There's Someone Inside Your House. The movie is based on a novel of the same name by Stephanie Perkins. The film adaptation follows high school seniors who are being targeted by a masked murderer intent on exposing their darkest secrets. The cast is full of up-and-coming actors, featuring Sydney Park, Kayla Heller, Theodore Pellerin, and Sarah Dugdale. There's Someone Inside Your House is also bolstered by behind-the-scenes talent, including producers James Wan, director of Saw and The Conjuring, and Shawn Levy, executive producer of Netflix's Stranger Things. The film is directed by Patrick Brice, who previously helmed Creep and Creep 2.

The new trailer for There's Someone Inside Your House, which was shared on YouTube by Netflix, offers audiences their first look at a unique slasher film. As the trailer highlights the killer's desire to expose their victims' secrets, it also offers a glimpse at their creepy signature: wearing a mask that looks like each victim's face. However, the trailer offers viewers a glimpse at a group of outsiders that band together to try and stop the killings. Check out the film's trailer and poster below:

The slasher genre includes some of horror's most recognizable icons, such as Michael Myers from Halloween or even Chucky from the Child's Play franchise, and the trailer for There's Someone Inside Your House introduces a new slasher with moments that look to set the film apart from genre tropes that have been established over the years. While it may not be as genre-breaking as something like Scream, There's Someone Inside Your House looks like it will try to shake things up in its own way. Audiences can unravel the secrets of There's Someone Inside Your House when it hits Netflix on October 6th.
