New Lost Boys Movie In The Works Starring A Quiet Place & IT Actors

Recommended Posts

The Lost Boys is an iconic '80s vampire horror film, and now there is a new one in development, with IT Chapters 1 & 2 star, Jaeden Martell, and Noah Jupe from A Quiet Place I and II attached to star. The original released in 1987 and was directed by Joel Schumacher. It has been remembered for its stellar cast and the soundtrack that accompanied it. The ensemble cast was comprised of Kiefer Sutherland, Alex Winter, Corey Feldman, Brooke McCarter, Billy Wirth, Jamison Newlander, and Jami Gertz. Due to the critical and financial success of the original, two sequels and two Lost Boys comic book series were created.

The original The Lost Boys was about two brothers (played by Jason Patric and Corey Haim) and their recently divorced mother (played by Dianne Wiest) moving to a beach town in California to move in with her father (Barnard Hughes). Once they arrive, they soon realize that the town is being terrorized by a fearsome biker gang. They then discover that this gang is comprised of vampires.

Now, fans of the original can be treated to another Lost Boys movie starring IT's Jaeden Martell and A Quiet Place's Noah Jupe. According to THR, Jupe and Martell seem to be the only stars attached to the project so far. The upcoming film will be directed by Jonathan Entwhistle, a producer on the Netflix show, I Am Not Okay With This, and developer of The End of the F***ing World show. It will also be written by Randy McKinnon, who is working on the upcoming Static Shock project for DC. THR also reports that the film will be set in modern day.

Jupe and Martell are great grabs for stars in this upcoming movie. IT: Chapters 1 and 2, which were box office draws and well-received horror films. A Quiet Place and its sequel were also well-received critically and financially. Neither of the two stars are strangers to horror projects, so they will fit in well with the tone of The Lost Boys. The plot is currently kept under wraps, so there are currently no details on what the story will be, but viewers can expect something similar to the original with the modern setting. It also remains to be seen if the new one will be a complete reimagining of the original or if it will regard the Lost Boys sequels too.

A modern retelling of a beloved project is usually hit or miss, so it will be interesting to see how this one will be received. The film seems to be in early development, so unfortunately for fans, it will be some time before more information is revealed. In the meantime, those who have never checked out the original The Lost Boys can give it a watch to get a sense of what to expect from this new film.
