The last few months of 2021 are shaping up to be an eventful time for Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans. Recently, Nintendo announced that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be receiving its own Direct sometime in October. Ahead of that Direct, however, is the annual Halloween Event where players can buy and create a variety of seasonal items.

After Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched in 2020, it released a ton of free updates, some large and small. Unfortunately, Animal Crossing New Horizons hasn't been seeing many large updates in the past couple of months. There have been smaller updates that include bug fixes and other smaller events, but no real significant update to entice players to return to their island. The Halloween Event is returning yet again, and although it isn't including a whole large amount of new content, it is introducing three new items for fans of the season.

With the return of the old Halloween items, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is also seeing the inclusion of three new items. These three items are Spooky Trick Lamp, Spooky Tree, and Spooky Treats Basket. For fans that have played through the first Halloween event last year, the addition of these three items still might not be enough to entice them to come back. For fans that are still playing though, these three items are probably enough to satisfy them until the large November update.

Thankfully, fans that are interested in these three items will be happy to know that they aren't difficult to acquire. Each of them can be purchased from Nook Cranny with the highest priced item being sold at 11,600 bells. As expected, they all require Pumpkins which are easy to come by during this event, as part of the DIY recipe. Everything about the event including the October 31st appearance of Jack is set to return.

For some, the Halloween update may disappoint, as it includes just three items for such a traditionally large event. Though, disappointed fans can still look forward to the Animal Crossing focused Direct sometime in October, which promises a look at a large future event. Seeing as this Animal Crossing update will feature its own Direct, its safe to assume that this November update will be significant. Hopefully, the Animal Crossing Direct teases updates beyond November and isn't a one-and-done deal.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
