Nintendo released Super Smash Bros. Ultimate back in 2018 and it continues to expand on the character roster with big new additions. The latest addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is Sora from the Kingdom Hearts franchise and Nintendo has teased what Kirby looks like after eating him.

Sora has been the hero of the Kingdom Hearts franchise since its beginning way back in 2002 and has grown as a character in countless ways. The Kingdom Hearts franchise is comprised of thirteen titles across several console gens and Sora is the hero across each of them. Considering all of the troubles he's faced along the way, Sora has many fighting techniques to unleash on his opponents in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Next to Kirby, Sora is a new character in the gaming industry as Kirby dates way back to 1992 when the first title was released on Game Boy. Fans of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will also be familiar with Kirby's role in the World of Light mode which starts off with Kirby being the only playable character. With Sora being the final character coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Kirby has a brand new look to sport with a new skill to master.

Each form that Kirby takes features an iconic look inspired by the Super Smash Bros. characters when he inhales them and copies their powers. There are several aspects of Sora that feel iconic, but Nintendo decided to transplant Sora's hair onto Kirby upon transformation. Nintendo Versus recently shared various images of Sora Kirby from different angles to give Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans an idea of what the pink puffball will look like with Sora's powers.

Sora's main ability in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the magical Monado, but long-time fans of Kingdom Hearts will easily recognize his iconic Keyblade as well. Unlike Sora, Kirby will not get his own mini Keyblade when swallowing Sora, but he will be able to unleash the Monado on enemy fighters. Nintendo Versus' images show Kirby's Monado in blue, yellow, and red, which will give some variety to the attack when Sora is added to the roster.

While Masahiro Sakurai intended to have Sora in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sooner, Disney rejected the idea initially. Because Sora is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate soon, it seems like Sakurai was able to convince Disney why the hero belongs in the Nintendo fighting game. Sora's unveiling shows a collaborative effort between Disney, Nintendo, and Square Enix which may open the doors to more collaboration in the future.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available right now for Nintendo Switch
