Without a doubt, the announcement of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, as well as Pokemon Legends: Arceus, a while back lit a fire under much of the fanbase. Not only are two highly demanded remasters coming to the Switch this year, but a new twist on the franchise formula in Pokemon Legends: Arceus is releasing next year.

Fans know that Pokemon Legends: Arceus isn’t a fully open world, but it is more open than past entries. Battling and catching Pokemon is completely different, while new features like Noble Pokemon are being introduced. There are also rumor aplenty, but the last one details a few new changes for the game, notably related to Sinnoh’s legendary trio.

This information comes way of Centro Leaks, which has leaked accurate information in the past. It’s still best to take this with a grain of salt, as even the leaker suggests they weren’t able to get confirmation on this information. It does make sense for Pokemon Legends: Arceus, however, and is incredibly enticing. Particularly, Centro Leaks has suggested that Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina (in a later DLC) will all get primal forms.

Primal forms were last seen in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, with Primal Groudon and Kyogre playing a big role in their story. It’s exciting nonetheless and will apparently be met with other new legendary and mythical Pokemon as well: a new, uncatchable form of Arceus, a new legendary quartet, a new mythical, and a Hisuian form for Mewtwo as well.

Previously, Centro Leaks had stated that Pokemon Legends: Arceus’ starters would receive new forms (alongside their claim of Primal Palkia and Dialga being added to the game) and that it would receive DLC throughout 2022. Assuming this is true, or if even half of it is true, it seems Pokemon Legends: Arceus will bring in a lot of elements that fans of the franchise will appreciate.

And all of these new forms and Pokemon stand to reason too. Alongside the reveal of Noble Pokemon, Pokemon Legends: Arceus revealed Kleavor which is an evolution of Scyther. Since Legends is set in the past, it seems that the Kleavor evolution became less common and perhaps disappeared over time. This evolutionary notion, befitting of the franchise, could easily explain their presence in this game but why they don’t appear in more “modern-day” titles such as the upcoming Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. For now, though, fans should keep their expectations in check while waiting to find out if Centro Leaks is accurate here.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus releases on January 28, 2022, for Switch.
