Victoria vs Queensland

Gurinder Sandhu bagged a four-for while Sam Truloff and Jimmy Peirson scored fifties as Queensland thumped Victoria by 92 runs in the Australia Domestic One-Day Cup game in Melbourne. Victoria could muster only 193 in pursuit of 286.

At one stage, when Matt Renshaw was dismissed, Queensland were in a spot of bother at 126 for 4. At that juncture, Peirson and Truloff joined hands to power the side to a position of strength, with the duo sharing a stand of 102. Even after Peirson was dislodged, Truloff stitched a quick-fire stand of 34 with James Bazley to push the score past the 250-run mark. After Truloff fell to Henry Thornton, Bazley and Xavier Bartlett strung together a useful, unbeaten alliance of 23. Meanwhile, Henry Thornton finished with three wickets for his efforts.

The only time Victoria seemed to be in the chase was when Mackenzie Harvey and Jake Fraser McGurk stitched an enterprising 58-run stand at more than a run-a-ball for the opening wicket. Once Fraser McGurk fell in the ninth over, Victoria lost wickets at regular intervals and slid to 102 for 5. Nic Maddinson tried to hold the innings together and scored a fifty but he had too much to do. Eventually, Victoria were bundled out in the 39th over.

Brief scores: Queensland 285/6 in 50 overs (Sam Truloff 80; Henry Thornton 3-45) beat Victoria 193 in 38.1 overs (Nic Maddinson 52; Gurinder Sandhu 4-42) by 92 runs.

New South Wales v Tasmania

The match between New South Wales and Tasmania in North Sydney Oval was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain. The umpires made the decision to call off the game after an inspection at 6 PM local time.
