Call of Duty: Vanguard Adding New Map and More With Season 3 Reloaded

Call of Duty: Vanguard came out last year to a relatively middling reception. Activision recently reported disappointing sales of Call of Duty: Vanguard and blamed the World War 2 setting for its market performance.

Vanguard also suffered from mixed critical reception and word of mouth, but Activision has since released various updates for the game. Zombies game mode, in particular, was arguably the most significant source of criticism at launch, and it received an overhaul in a previous patch. Call of Duty: Vanguard is in its third season, and Activision now details all the content coming in the mid-season update.

A post on the official Call of Duty website describes the new content coming to Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard in Season Three Reloaded. Also known as Classified Arms Reloaded, this update will add new features to Call of Duty: Vanguard and go live later today at 10 AM PT. The post also mentions that Season Three Reloaded will add numerous quality-of-life features, and Activision will share the complete details in the full patch notes.

Classified Arms Reloaded adds a new map called Sphere to Call of Duty: Vanguard. Sphere is a small map featuring a hidden underground weapons lab, with the top floor designed as a mock coal mine. The underground area has tunnels, a workshop, and a central lab, and the post claims that Operators that can quickly navigate between the upper and lower floors will have the upper hand in combat.

Season Three Reloaded will also come with a few more pieces of content. It adds the H4 Blixen SMG to Call of Duty: Vanguard and the blog post compares it to The Owen Gun. It states that the H4 Blixen has three more bullets per magazine and features better aim down sight speed and vertical recoil. Players can unlock this weapon by completing the following challenge - Get 3 Slide Kills in a single match 15 times. They can also purchase a store bundle that will release later during Classified Arms Reloaded.

A new Operator, Kim Tae Young, will join Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone in Season Three Reloaded. She has her own XP system, and players can earn skins and other rewards by progressing through its 20 levels. This section also shares her backstory and mentions that her weapon of choice is the newly added SMG H4 Blixen.
