Rumors about a possible remake of Resident Evil 4 have been circulating the internet for some time now. Despite its slight lean towards more action, and ditching the fixed camera angles and tank control system, the 2004 release is considered the best Resident Evil game ever made, so it's not surprising that fans want to see it re-emerge for this generation. However, Capcom has not said anything about whether it's inbound or not, but there's speculation that something could get announced soon.

In a video uploaded to the YouTube channel Residence of Evil, there's a possibility that there could be an announcement soon that pertains to the anticipated Resident Evil 4 remake. The show's host says that, according to unnamed sources, a reveal could happen this year, potentially at this year's Summer Games Fest, which takes place next month. On top of that, the remake is also rumored to have a projected release window of 2023. However, it should be stated that none of these details have been confirmed, but it will get fans talking no doubt.

With Resident Evil Village being the fastest selling entry in the franchise, Capcom has been reporting huge profits, with margins expected to be even higher for the next fiscal year. The video goes on to say that it's likely to be a big year for the developer, and if the company's figures are expected to rise, then it's likely due to incoming big releases, one of which could be the RE4 remake. On top of that, the host also says that Village DLC may also be getting announced soon, which is something else fans have been waiting a while for.

Rumors about a remake of Resident Evil 4 have not really faded away, and this latest speculation will no doubt bring it back into popular discourse. Some have been looking for hints in any place they can to see if Capcom left evidence of its existence. However, as stated above, the studio, as well any other official party involved, has yet to say whether any of the rumors are true, though many believe that the remake is in development.

Along with Resident Evil 3 Remake supposedly coming to PS5 soon, it's a horror series that is seemingly taking up a lot of the limelight, especially in the horror community. As part of one of the biggest franchises in the genre, it's had steady success pretty much from day one, with a slight lull after the launch of the fifth and sixth games, so it's understandable that fans want to know what's going on with the elusive RE4 remake.

A remake of Resident Evil 4 is rumored to be in development.
